Almost seems like it’s a test State for society. Diverse in every way. Absolute poverty in some places and the residents don’t seem to mind. Corn country with cities resembling the TV series Shameless. Major shipping hub, especially for food/ag. Maybe it’s all location, location, location. And now it’s the covid19 hotspot of the Midwest.
