He only spent $7,000, but his first name wasn’t Krishna.

Our odds of picking up that seat went from 5% to 0%, so it’s not a big loss. But I really wish voters bothered to learn just a tiny bit about candidates before casting their vote.

With Lipinski’s (unfortunate) primary loss, and Collin Peterson likely to lose this November, there almost certainly will be zero truly pro-life Democrats in either house of Congress come January 3. The closest thing to a pro-life Democrat in Congress will be Henry Cuellar of TX-28, who barely survived a primary challenge himself.

Just 22 years ago, 8 of Pennsylvania’s 21-member U.S. House delegation was composed of pro-life Democrats: Bob Borski (PA-03; NE Philly), Ron Klink (PA-04; Lawrence and Beaver counties and suburbs N. and E. of Pittsburgh), Tim Holden (PA-06; Berks and Schuylkill counties), Paul Kanjorski (PA-11; Luzerne and Carbon counties), John Murtha (PA-12; Cambria, Indiana and Armstrong counties), Paul McHale (PA-15; Lehigh Valley), Mike Doyle (PA-18; close-in Pittsburgh suburbs and Mon Valley), and Frank Mascara (PA-20; Washington, Fayette and Greene counties). Eight from a single state! The fact that abortionphilia has become such a litmus test for Democrats that there will not be any pro-life Democrats in Congress in 2021 is one of the most unfortunate developments in American politics over the past two decades. There is nothing “liberal” about killing innocent human beings.

Lipinski on being a pro-life Democrat:

“There was one issue that loomed especially large in this campaign: the fact that I am pro-life. I was pilloried in millions of dollars of TV ads and mailers. I was shunned by many of my colleagues and other Democratic Party members and operators because of my pro-life stance. The pressure in the Democratic Party on the life issue has never been as great as it is now. Over the years, I’ve watched many other politicians succumb to pressure and change their position on this issue. I have always said that I would never give up being pro-life and standing up for babies in the womb. Judy [Lipinski’s wife] and I, and tens of millions of Catholics, hold and live this belief. But it is not just based on religious belief. It is based on science, which shows us that life begins at conception. Knowing this, I could never give up protecting the most vulnerable human beings in the world simply to win an election. My faith teaches, and the Democratic Party preaches, that we should serve everyone, especially the most vulnerable. To stand in solidarity with the vulnerable is to become vulnerable. There is no higher calling for anyone.”

Endorsing Michael Fricolone would be real courage.

I don’t know our sore loser law but I’d support giving Lip our nomination even if he wouldn’t promise to vote for a Republican Speaker.

Pelosi tried to stick abortion funding in the Virus relief bill........
