I wonder if we will find out Covid-19 or close versions of it have been around for many months?
We have people like our Ohio health director mathematically extrapolating (whether we’d choose to agree or not) that we could have 100k people walking around infected right now.
People’s Repubric of China find Patient Zero. He not available for talking. So Soddy.
I was put on a z-pack and another antibiotic when that didn’t work.
A z-pack is useful against a bacterial infection, either the cause of the disease or of bacterial infection of the pneumonia that follows.
Whiskey!
And honey -
How about all the young Chinese students at Universities in the US? A lot of them went home during Christmas break and could have carried it back to the states when they returned for school. Young people may not have noticed that they were that sick and then in college towns there are alot of other young people who may have just blown it off as a bad cold and continued to go about their business.
This has been in our country for some time and people just thought it was the flu this hysteria is completely unwarranted!!!
NOT FROM CNN.
I had the worst upper respiratory flu/illness I’ve ever had in November. I could not kick my cough and wheeze for about 2 months. I bet I have already had it as well.
That is true CNN basically cut and pasted this article. https://www.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/3074991/coronavirus-chinas-first-confirmed-covid-19-case-traced-back If I had seen that before I posted this I would have posted that article instead.
The way this thing spreads, I think we would know if it had been here earlier.
The flu was/is supposed to be very bad this year.
Im starting love these threads as they are damn funny...
That actually made sense to you?
everybody who has a slight cough will demand to be checked....the cases are bound to go up.....the virus is out there but its not going to make most people sick....most people would ignore it IF IT WEREN’T FOR THE PANIC DRIVING MEDIA....
it could very well been making the rounds earlier then we think, which is A GOOD THING....
My husband had pneumonia in the last week of December. It nearly killed him. He is still on oxygen. He was treated in the CCU at Evergreen Health Kirkland...same hospital where the first Wuhan coronavirus killed the first patient in Washington. He had seen a doctor in Swedish Hospital in Seattle a week before. This doctor had a visiting doctor from China in the exam room. Hubbys pulmonary specialist says he still can’t figure out why his pneumonia was so bad or what caused it. Took fluid
out of his lungs (no anesthetics just eight people holding him down.) Cultured with no answer.
I came in contact with a young(ish) Korean/Taiwanese couple in mid-January. It was over a 2 hour dinner at a posh West LA restaurant, and we three shared a communal serving plate (among 21). I've had nagging lung congestion in the AM now for maybe 4 weeks this winter. Never felt sick, never stopped me from my normally physically active (sports) lifestyle. But now that people are beginning to raise questions about the timeline, I'm wondering if I've actually been a walking case.
I've contacted the restaurant to see if they can find/ask the couple whether (a) they visited family in Asia during the holidays; or (b) if any of their relatives visited here; and (c) if anyone has become/was ill with CV.
It would be sort of awesome if I've already had it, both from a personal stand-point, and of course for public health modeling purposes. However, once again the contra case is I've just been sickly (unusual), which would suggest I'm in for a world of hurt if this thing is just building.
Yep. You’re only here and posting on these threads so as to register your disapproval. Sure. That’s it. Uh-huh.
I your mind that make sense, but outside your mind its rather disconcerting to know someone thinks it does
How does it spread? Do you know for a fact its spreading? Is it not possible that many already carry the virus but some other factor is triggering the symptoms? It is certainly not spreading like a normal contagious pathogen spreads but in isolated pockets.
The cases in WA at the nursing home happened weeks ago. Yet we are now seeing just one ER doctor from the affiliated local hospital affected. If it is so very contagious why no cases among the health care workers at the nursing home or other point of care personnel at the local hospital.
Other confounding factors must be investigated before assuming it is spreading rather than being activated.
