Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker did the smart and prudent thing on Friday by canceling school in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
But weirdly, Tuesday’s primary elections will go on as planned.
Hey J.B., where’s the logic in this?
Illinois elected officials have been virtue-signaling for days, telling us all to be responsible and to avoid social contact.
The Illinois political class wants you to go to the polls and stand in line with strangers — who may or may not cough — in tight places along with mostly elderly election judges and cast your ballots on Tuesday.
I don’t have statistics on the age of election judges in Illinois, but after about 6,000 years of covering politics around here, my experience is that most are in their 70s or older. They are mostly retired and have the time and concern about doing their “basic civic duties” to sit there at polling places and serve as election judges.
Now they’ll be sitting or standing at a table looking at documents, and voters will walk by and touch the table, touch their own faces, touch the table again, cough, touch their hands, touch the pens, for hour upon hour, so politicians can get their votes.
Elections are politics. And in Illinois, there is nothing as serious as that.

Now residents have Chicago and Cook County, Illinois can spread the virus by using touch screens to record their ballot choices.

I think the Wisconsin primary is the one that should be moved. The further out into the future it is moved the lower the turnout - once Biden locks it - and the better the chances for the incumbent conservative WI Sup. Ct. Justice to retain his seat.
Low turnout favors incumbents. Perfect for IL politics, which sucks. Last thing these crooks want is change.
Also too dangerous to eat out, despite restaurants taking extra precautions and do extra cleaning. But going to the poling stations, and touch the same (machine, pen, booth etc.) that 100 people touche is seemingly OK. Makes sense.
Live in Illnois? St Patty’s day happens to fall on the third Tuesday in March primary day. While this is a primary and the offices of mayor or governor are not on the ballot when choosing a party consider the party party that is running either and doing this;

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) says a man who prosecutors allege sexually assaulted a 3-year-old girl in the stall of a McDonald’s restroom located in Chicago’s North Riverside community 600 North Clark street should have been turned over to the agency last year.
Christopher Puente, 34, is charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault. Cook County prosecutors said he confessed to detectives that he’d placed the child on his lap while he was in a restroom stall, pulled off her pants, and covered her mouth when she started calling out “daddy daddy.”
The father had taken his two children to the restroom, taking his son into a stall while his daughter waited just outside in the restroom. According to prosecutors. Puente, who was in the next stall, lured the girl into his stall while her dad was preoccupied, pulled her into his lap, pulled down her pants and underwear, and sexually assaulted her.
In June 2019, ICE lodged an immigration detainer with the Chicago Police Department on Puente, who has several felony convictions and a prior removal, after he was arrested for theft.
“How many more victims must there be before lawmakers realize that sanctuary policies do not protect the innocent?” asked Robert Guadian, field office director of Chicago Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). “Puente should have been in ICE custody last year and removed to his home country. Instead, irresponsible lawmaking allowed him to walk free and prey on our most vulnerable.”

No Illinois Pritzker should ever be trusted to tell the truth, support our President, Trump, or even run a state properly.
Other than that, I’m sure JB and his ambassadorship wife buyer are fine folk.
Well it is the state off ILL n annoy so nothing new.
