LAS VEGAS - Cirque du Soleil, creator of many of the most popular shows in Las Vegas, said Saturday that it is temporarily suspending its productions in the city as well as around the world because of the new coronavirus outbreak.
In a statement, the company said it made the decision based on public health authorities calling for people to limit their social interactions to stop the spread of the virus.
The shows that will be cancelled effective Sunday are O at the Bellagio, KA at MGM Grand, The Beatles LOVE at the Mirage, Mystere at Treasure Island, Zumanity at New York-New Yoek and Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay.

Show Biz is the most vulnerable to such epidemics.
I can remember at our local amusement park, the theater attraction had to be closed after a proliferation of crabs, caused by the homo freaks sharing costumes, and other things.
After this fake crisis, the earth is going to shake with the screams of those hit with an economic crisis that is going to devastate billions of people. Amazed at the intentional economic suicide the world just committed.
Arm up. This is going to get real after the fake part is over.
I think it would be more truthful to say they are closing due to the show being a complete bore and terrible entertainment.
I was walking through the beautiful Bellagio a couple of weeks ago with my sis. The decorations honoring Oriental culture are magnificent. We had lunch there. It wasn’t bat soup. There were hundreds if not thousands of Orientals there. Wearing masks? 5 MAX. I’m OK so far and so is my sis in AZ. Thanks for asking. Take care. If they shut down/off all of that money machine then Katie bar the door. It’s my canary in the coal mine. Easy to seal off...natural mountain barriers, a couple of interstates to close. If things get really out of hand, there’s Nellis AFB nearby and one VERY LARGE drone port nearby. Stay tuned.
devastate billions, economic suicide, arm up
LOL
All these closures will hit the rhinestone industry very hard. Hope they have wiped down the fainting couch.
Laugh all you want, but you think you can just start up a complete unraveling of the intertwined economic engine if the world? Doesnt work that way.
Promise to get back to you once this is all over and the war is on.
“I think it would be more truthful to say they are closing due to the show being a complete bore and terrible entertainment.”
I didn’t care much for O but Mystere is a remarkable show.
If you ever watch it keep your eyes scanning the theater something is virtually always going on...
There isnt going to be a war. That is the whole point. I meant arm up because of criminal gangs leading organized theft rings.
People are going to be desperate and hurting so badly financially, that they will gladly give their lives over to the government, or commit violent theft just to survive. That means gun confiscation is coming as sure as the sun rises.
Now, if only the Russians had thought of this!
Some of you apparently still don’t freaking get it.
This is anything BUT “fake”, but those of us that have actually done the research on it are done wasting our time trying to debate it with the Ostrich Brigade.
Best of luck avoiding the “fake” virus that the CDC has estimated is going to infect 2 out of every 3 Americans. Oh, and good luck if you then need hospital admission in a system that is projected to need 10X our current capacity..or worse, an ICU that’s projected to need 30X current national capacity.
Sigh..
Ok. I didn’t want to go here and have been avoiding it since this whole nonsense escalated:
I have a B.S. in Microbiology. I did cancer research for a couple of years, but jumped into software because I saw it as a chance to make real money (and was proven correct - I did very well).
I have a Virology textbook from 1989 that I kept. In it is a section on Cornonavirae and related ARS syndromes. The only thing new with this one is the rate of transmission. The crime against humanity is the exaggeration of its severity.
I am very eager for serological testing to begin because, I theorize that this has been out in the general population for many months and a certain level of herd immunity is already underway.
Unfortunately, our current approach is actually going to slow the rate of herd immunity and ultimately put more elderly or vulnerable people at risk over a longer time period.
We should be encouraging healthy people to go about their business, while focusing on mitigation for those that are at risk. That would do more than anything to really help. However, there isn’t enough government control in that is there?
Enjoy being a sacrificial lamb to the alter of big government.
I think you are absolutely blind if you don’t think there will be serious economic fallout from our reaction to this.
So people who spend their life savings panic buying enough toilet paper To last them for the next two years are going to be mad because it was unnecessary? Say it isnt so
I saw a thread up the screen a little ways from the concerned doctors who continue to state that this is 10x more fatal than influenza and 8 x more fatal if under 60. I am not sure those numbers track.
Since the beginning we have been told that the "vast majority of cases" will be completely asymptomatic or mild and self limited. This must mean that the N of cases is significantly higher than we have recorded which makes all the current models the worst case scenario
Even in the most vulnerable of age group if you believe the 15% death rate --this means 85% of patients recover. In other words -- the vast majority of even the most endangered population recover
But we do not talk about the facts. And the economic damage is not justified based on these facts. I agree with you entirely, and am glad there is someone who thinks logically and according to facts. My guess? By May 1, back to business as usual. Then the historians can weigh in
Entertainers put on hold is not really a good thing. I get concerned about entertainers as they have a lot of addictions and idle time will not be good for them.
I am biased as I hate circus and always have. Im sure the show you mentioned is great.
