I think Fauci spoke the truth. Not having the kits was a serious condition for combating this virus.

Now, the other side of it was how quickly Pres. Trump responded. The kits are now out there and a lot of people are finally being tested.

For example, up until this past week, there were NO test kits in Alabama. We also were one of the few states left with no cases of coronavirus.

I talked to a friend who works for the Alabama Dept of Public Health, and we started getting kits on Friday. Sure enough, we had our first case, a civilian government worker at Maxwell AFB (my 42 ABG!). Drive in testing started at Univ. Ala. (Roll Tide!), B’ham, and Montgomery on Friday. By the end of Friday, the new kits found 6 coronavirus cases in the state, and 10 yesterday.

So now testing is well underway around the state.

I suspect we’ll se a huge growth in the number of cases in the United States over the next few days as the testers get up to full speed.

Anyway, Trump and his team look good getting this solved so soon after Dr. Fauci made his statement.

Maybe it was deliberate? The media sure took the bait.

The testing kits do not combat the virus.

The kits combat the panic

Point of order: The President was tested.

He was tested after receiving a Doctor’s confirmation of exposure

No doctor’s confirmation, no test.

The test is free but the confirmation costs $50

I think deliberate by Trump in 2 regards

1. Show Fauci as part of the problem -
2. Immediately deliver on what they thought was rambling when he said I’m working with private etc..

Well done in both regards by him, and he continues to show that bureaucracy leads to inaction, while enterprise gets it done..

The lack of kits was a bureaucratic problem. Fauci is part of the bureaucracy, yet he seems to take little responsibility for this “failing.” The Dems and MSM are blaming Trump, but the rules and protocols authored by CDC and NIH left us ill prepared for a real pandemic. Trump was left holding the bag. Fauci, IMO, just piled on to the delight of the Dems and the MSM.

I am also concerned that technocrats like Fauci can drive public policy thru his narrow lens of expertise. The impact on our economy and people needs to be considered as well. We may face the situation that the operation was successful, but the patient died.
