Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson praised President Trump's call for a National Day of Prayer as the coronavirus outbreak grips the nation.
As Vice President Mike Pence and officials of the White House Coronavirus Task Force provided updates to the public on the growing COVID-19 pandemic, Carson spoke on the upcoming National Day of Prayer tailored to boosting morale among the public.
"I hope that we as a nation can use this as an opportunity to pull together for good. You know, President Trump is going to be recommending a National Day of Prayer. And you know, we've gotten away from prayer and faith a lot in this country," Carson said during the Saturday press conference.
"There's nothing wrong with godly principles, no matter what your faith is: loving your neighbor, caring about the people around you, developing your God-given talents to the utmost so that you become valuable to the people around you, having values and principles that govern your life," he continued.
"Those are things that made America zoom to the top of the world in record time. And those are the things that will keep us there too."

EXCELLENT
When I heard Ben’s comments this morning I was so pleased.
The surgeon general also made unifying statements and nicely told the press to report useable facts to the public rather than “bickering” with Trump’s team.
Of course as soon as Ben was done speaking, the demon controlled press went right back to rude questions.
BTTT!
Not religious, but rather have Pres. Trump praying for the nation’s well-being than the left’s wishing for the nation’s destruction.
Not religious, so it would be OK if Trump throws in a small prayer for God’s wrath to crush all the hateful fear mongers in the media. /s
AMEN!
Thank you PT and Dr. Carson!
So when is the National Day of Prayer?
Here is a link for a video that includes a speech Ben gave last month.
Though it was a SDA (Seventh Day Adventist) event, and I am not SDA, I was staying not far from where Ben was speaking and went to the event so I could hear his speech.
The speech was very good, and not at all a SDA speech as being SDA was not what Ben spoke about. I did not hear anything in the speech a faithful Christian of any denomination could much object to.
And yes, there in his speech, he comments on how he could never take any position in government if it required him to keep silent about any comments about or coming from his faith.
You have to advance the video to about 49.10 (past many other SDA presenters) to get to the start of Ben’s speech.
