If they weren't already gone, there goes the bars & restaurants.
Thanks for this terrific post. I share many of your same pastimes, I’d add MLB for myself. And yes ouch, at this stage of my life.
“”Don’t panic but geesh face reality and quit minimizing it or writing it off.””
Good advice which isn’t going to be welcome by many here.
In the meantime, I’m wondering what a lot of these same people complaining about those of us who believe in preparing will do when an EMP hits the country! I believe it will.
Will they pooh pooh those who got prepared as much as they possibly could with food stores etc., as there won’t be much you CAN DO AFTER this country gets hit with an EMP? Will they rethink their attitudes before that happens?
We who believe in some preparation don’t need criticism simply because some aren’t taking any steps to be prepared for the worst with this virus. I think I can pin my own attitude down to when I heard that ships are being turned back to China with their export goods...no one is thinking that it could be the case easily here - what happens when goods will NOT BE DELIVERED to stores - what do they do then? Knock on their neighbor’s door asking for some of the supplies they had the foresight to put in?
I don’t know where the thinking came from that those doing the criticizing think we’re preparing because we believe we can STOP the virus - like the TP buying. Now that’s really twisted thinking and it’s not on our part!
Is this just Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores in PA or is this a State memoranda?
Article states that this is just a chain in PA doing this from what I read.
As we used to call it, “getting that Wheeling-feeling.”
Don’t think the politicians aren’t watching this to see how far they can push things.
Panic away. The rest of us will profit from your stupidity.
This is spreading a lot faster than either of those two. Italy is a look into our future if we dont take it seriously. The panic buying of goods and selling of stocks is stupid, but its not panicking to take the need to smooth the curve seriously. If people practice social distancing for the next month we will be able to keep the number of cases within our number of hospital beds and be fine. If we dont, it will look like Italy with hundreds dying each day.
This might be the straw that finally broke the camel’s back. PA needs to privatize all alcoholic beverage sales. Period. Don’t take no for an answer.
Rat Governor? This is going to go over like a fart in church.
They will be rioting in PA within a week.
Yes, full sniveling rat governor.
I texted your link to my sis and BIL. They took need and went out to stock up. Said it was a mad house in Abington.
Figures.
Nothing like STATE controlled Prohibition era f-ing BS of the “ABC” store. People will just go to other states. This “crisis” is going full ‘tard.
OK, NOW this is a CRISIS!!!
The ban is 3 counties around Philly so far, if memory serves. The rest of the state not yet.
I don't need to panic and never do. I finished everything I needed to get over a month ago. I calmly, sedately and with no pressure it all. It didn't take a genius to see what was happening in every other country to know it was going to happen here too. Anyone who is surprised or upset that people are panicking now only do so because they didn't prepare either and have been caught flatfooted.
Moonshiners and bootleggers rejoice.
In the 70’s State Store service was so slow the plague would be over before you got your booze.
