Ironically, "The Stand" was the only Stephen King novel that I truly liked. And I read most of them.
For short stories, my favorite one was "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" which was turned into the "Shawshank Redemption" movie.

He was fine until he was brain damaged from that truck accident. He later made sure the driver was “Arkancided,” it would appear.
