MICHIGAN -- The number of coronavirus cases in Michigan jumped to 25 as of late Friday, state health officials reported.
The number of presumptive positive cases jumped from 12 on Thursday to more than two dozen as of late Friday, March 13.
Michigan Department of Health and Human Services staff gave the following listing of new cases:
An adult male from Bay County with history of domestic travel. The Bay County Health Department said in a statement the presumptive positive person is a physician at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw. Once it was confirmed that he tested positive, the Bay County Health Department along with Covenant HealthCare and other area county health departments have been working to inform patients, staff and others that have had contact with the physician and provide them information to ensure that they take immediate actions to minimize the exposure of others, the statement said.
Two adult females and an adult male from Oakland County. The Oakland County Health Division said in a statement the new cases include a woman with international travel history and an adult man and woman who are a couple with no travel history.
New exposure locations provided by the county include a Walmart at 3301 Pontiac Trail in Commerce Charter Township, March 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and New York International, a grocery store at 7435 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield Township, March 4 from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

An adult female from Detroit with history of international travel.
An adult male from Macomb County with history of international travel.

Were going to get through this,' says Gov. Whitmer as she orders K-12 schools closed over coronavirus
Most cases have history of International Travel. Wonder where?
It seems there’s a lot of hysterical reporting around new cases and the infection rate being higher than the flu but when you look at the mortality rate in countries that have good medical care - not China for example, it’s not like this is a disease like Ebola which is highly fatal. Fatalities are a tragedy but the ones from this virus are being overblown as the vast majority of people, even in China are recovering.
ping...
Did we ever get a state by state tally on the swine flu pandemic that killed 14000 in America
Any airport? Dirty airplane?
Not much reporting on the demographics o the deaths.
Doubt it.
Mainly put this up for Michiganders as it has where the virus is showing up. Personally I think this is getting overblown, but there is no point heading for where it has been found.
OMG
OMG
OMG
One needs information on exactly when it is time to go turtle and withdraw from external contact for a while.
Not sure what the “all clear” signal will be.
Only funny until we get it...;)
That rig looks like it could be surplus.
Where can I get one?
My older neighbor down the street had it. She just got released from the hospital and guess what...SHE RECOVERED! And most people who get this will recover! That’s why only 5,423 have died worldwide from this!
The media has successfully created the hysteria they desired, just like they created the blackout with their lack of coverage during the H1N1 outbreak back in 2009 when Obama was president.
We are being played by the Fake News, and many Americans risk losing their jobs and savings over this utter scam!
Yep. Toilet Paper Storage Safes. Thanks.
At this point, I wouldnt be surprised if the networks start running a continuous ticker at the bottom of the screen, like ESPN does for scores.
I mean we need to maximize the panic, right?
I HATE our media and its journalists.
“Most cases have history of International Travel. Wonder where?”
Middle East is my guess.
Are most cases — all 25!!!!!!!! — near Dearborne?
No. See above. They are spread out.
One is a physician from Bay County, near the Thumb, with history of domestic travel. Six are in the Detroit Metro area, but four different counties and could probably have Middle East exposure.
No idea about the rest. Guess those are all they could trace?
You mean anything except toilet paper - right?
;-)
