A Chinese official questioned whether the U.S. Army "brought the epidemic to Wuhan" and demanded "an explanation" on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry, Lijian Zhao, made the post on his official Twitter account and included video of U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield testifying before Congress.
"CDC was caught on the spot," Lijian wrote. "When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals? It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe us an explanation!"
The outbreak of coronavirus was first detected in the bustling industrial city of Wuhan in China's central Hubei province. Lijian's statement comes after U.S. lawmakers have accused China of hiding information about the outbreak, which is now a pandemic, according to the World Health Organization.

I am not sure it is a weaponized virus.
I do think it was probably the subject of research. Whether that research had a benign intent is the big question for me.
Somebody should have asked the official:
“So you are saying that the US Military penetrated deep into the heart of China, and let loose a biological weapon, and there was nothing that the People’s Liberation Army and the Chinese Communist Party could do to prevent it?”
Yeah. I am not sure it is a weapon, it is not fatal enough. The intent is important. Did Europeans kill native Americans on purpose with germs? Probably not, but it was effective nevertheless.
Many like Steve Bannon and Gordon Chang have been saying for months that the tariffs have China on the ropes. Bannon has said China is in a state of collapse, and compared it to Japan when we embargoed oil prior to WWII.
Add to that the Hong Kong protests.

Probably not. That would be really, really desperate of China, but look at Pearl Harbor.
The timing actually centers around the celebrations for the Chinese New Year. A lot of Chinese went home to celebrate, than began returning to their businesses, schools, etc., carrying the virus with them.
That’s when it got a boost, CNY.
It was around probably in late October/early November. Just not enough generations of virus replication to look impressive yet.
The dinner for 40,000 families in Wuhan was the great force multiplier that started this crazy.

Chinese always blame some outside agent. That can’t accept responsibility, not for themselves, and not for China. So, someone else must be at fault. (This is a Chinese cultural Achille’s heal)
