But how sure can we be that all these people really knew what they were doing...to the point where they were intentionally committing treason?

I completely understand your point about the communist party - it’s a VERY good one. Maybe they OUGHT to have known...but did they really? Isn’t that hard to tell? I suggest that in hindsight it can become much easier to condemn them than perhaps if things had turned out differently...because each individual might not have realized how they were contributing to the whole. And selfishness often makes for blindness.

So, while I’m in agreement with you collaborating with communists should not be done, I’m not in agreement with you that all these citizens are worthy of death. I wouldn’t mind seeing as much evidence brought forward in court, as much as might be obtainable.

You do make a VERY good point.

Respectfully,

The closest thing I can say is this.

WE've known for a long time how inhuman the Communists are. The Soviet Union and gulags, Pol Pot, the Chicoms, North Korea, Albania.

I cannot accept nor believe for an instant, that ...well, almost anything that was done (particularly giving them supercomputers and ICBM guidance technology) ; or giving them our industrial secrets including (as I wrote 15 years ago or so) letting them make our computer chips (see Huwaei and telecommunications); or letting them make ~90% of our antibiotics; etc. etc.

can have been done in good faith.

The original approach, in a limited fashion, seeking a counterweight to the Soviet Union, I can ...follow, even if I disagree.

But the chair of the Chemistry Dept. at freaking HARVARD (as in, yes, the REAL Harvard, of Harvard, Yale, Princeton fame)...was arrested for taking $50k / month under the table from Red China, accepting (I think) a million and a half for helping them set up a biological / chemical research center (guess where? Yes, Wuhan. Yes, *that* Wuhan)...and appointing two PLA colonels to positions at Harvard?

And Sen. Dianne Feinstein's *driver* for 20 years was a Chicom spy? Wake up and smell the Panda!
