Well, they probably did sufficiently stock up on ‘paper goods,’ but did so a while ago. No expiration date.

Food stores of all types are constantly rotated by the wise prepper.

They did.

Also soap, basic OTC medical supplies, laundry detergent or the stuff for making such, cans of soup, orange juice... they have it all already.

And a lot of these people were not preppers in the way CNN is using the word. Just people that realize that at any time things can go wrong and it is nice to have a plan B in place and ready to go.
