The next Democratic primary debate won't be staged in front of a crowd amid growing fears regarding the coronavirus outbreak.
"At the request of both campaigns and out of an abundance of caution, there will be no live audience at the Arizona debate taking place on Sunday, March 15th," Democratic National Committee spokeswoman Xochitl Hinojosa wrote in a statement late Tuesday.

Optics of seeing Biden sitting down would not be good
Both Dems, are pretty much in the highest-risk age group.
No audience, no spin room afterwards. Don’t be surprised if the debate itself is cancelled in the next day or two. The DNC knows it’s extremely risky to put Joe Biden out there on live TV, unscripted, for two hours. They know there’s no telling what he might say.
So Slow Joe will be in a BarcaLounger without an occasional alarm clock? Can’t wait...

No audience for two old guys sitting yammering at each other? Sounds like an afternoon at the retirement home. May as well put them in wheel chairs with blankets over their legs.....or hospital beds. Not a good look for someone who wants to lead the free world.
I sure hope when Biden debates Trump that the president does NOT agree to sitting down. He should graciously allow Biden to sit down, but say he prefers to stand.
COVID is sure a convenient way for Bite-me to solve his problem of an inability to attract a crowd.

Were there major outbreaks of flu or colds at the previous debates? Do they not know how to clean the facility or screen the audience for fever or contact with infected people like they do for international flights?
We are going to have to live with this panic by using common sense hygiene and avoiding areas with high populations of community spreading.
