Not sure how “tax money” comes into it.

Colt et al make M4s.
I should be able to buy one, if they’re willing to sell it.

922(o) should be repealed outright. _Heller_ decision hinted at doing so.

Insofar as 922(o) is law, methinks POTUS should: declare all Selective Service registrants covered by the law’s exemption, authorize DCM/CMP to sell new M4s _at_cost_ (plus overhead) thereto, and petition Congress to allow a 100% tax credit for buying one every 10 years plus 1000 rounds every year.

You can't own any full auto manufactured after the 1986 FOPA. Anything prior to that date is ok to purchase and own with the right documentation....and if you can afford one....LOL!

The last time I checked, an M-16 in good condition was selling between $20,000 and $30,000........

I just meant that if the government paid Colt et. al. to design and build a military grade weapon that the government can also put into the contract a clause that says Colt can't sell them to any other buyers without government permission. I don't see that this violates your right to keep and bear arms because you can still make your own, albeit, probably not as well as Colt.
