Of those who can’t afford it, how many are convinced that a wedding needs to be a $20,000+ production in order to be valid?

Women can have bicycles like the fish do.

I bet that number has skyrocketed thanks to those wedding reality shows and social media.

Too many IMHO.

‘We’ got married at a state park. There were 8 total people including the minister.

Wedding brunch was at a Shoneys.

I think they mean spouses assuming the debt of the other. My sister won’t marry her fiance because she has medical debt

I had a friend who 30 years ago was getting married. Her Dad sat the couple down. He took out a check for $10k. That was what he could afford.

They took the check, got married in a small family mass, and went to the Greek islands for two weeks. They came home and rented a hall and threw a party.

They made money.

THAT is the way to get married.

That is actually a cheap wedding.

I think I spent between three and four thousand on ours.
