40 is still too cheap. Normal price for all is 60-70. Under 50 and above 80 is bad.

I own oil stocks so oil at $60 works for me.

I was talking about the absolute minimum price needed to keep the lights on and the doors open for domestic producers. I assume you agree that oil at $30 is a disaster for domestic producers.

New Mexico’s most recent revenue estimates pegged oil prices for the budget year that ends in June to average $52 per barrel. Just a $1 change in the average annual New Mexico price of oil has an impact of roughly $22 million on the state general fund. Taxes and royalties on oil and natural gas accounted for roughly 36% of New Mexico’s total revenue last year, according to the NM Legislative Finance Committee.
