Steve Hilton spent much of his opening monologue Sunday slamming Democrats and the media, saying they've been stoking the flames of coronavirus panic with the country at risk of a "catastrophic overreaction."
"Of course, no one should minimize it, and we must do all we can to stop preventable deaths -- but it seems to me that weve got a bunch of people in leadership positions in the media and business and Congress who are running around maximizing coronavirus without a thought for the harm they may be causing," Hilton said on "The Next Revolution."
Hilton pointed to a recent statement from a U.S. health official who asserted that over 85 percent of those infected will experience mild to no symptoms.
"This is yet another example of an arrogant ruling elite with no understanding of or empathy for how precarious the lives of the poorest Americans are." Steve Hilton, 'The Next Revolution' "By the way, that is an actual public health official. Trump said literally the same thing and the idiots in the ruling-class state TV go nuts," Hilton said.
He continued, "The virus is here. It's going to spread. The vast majority of people who get it won't even know. As Dr. [Anthony] Fauci said today, we know who is at risk: the elderly and those with underlying conditions. For God's sake, let's put our efforts into protecting them."
Hilton emphasized that "draconian restrictions" were justified "only for the elderly and vulnerable," and called for the implementation of safeguards for high-risk communities.
"Stop this wild, reckless overreaction based on panic, not science." Steve Hilton, 'The Next Revolution' "Get hospital ICUs and ventilator capacity ready. Take extra steps to protect nursing homes. Make sure no one is put off from being seen by a doctor

I think even the “worriers” realize that the disease — as a disease — isn’t the end of the world. The biggest fear has always been the fear itself — the economic disruption to supply chains and whatnot.
What irks me is that a lot of the talking heads really seem to want that economic disruption. Bring on the chaos. Bring on the fear. Hey, maybe it will hurt Trump.
I think the over reaction is disgusting and almost entirely political.
"If you listen to the mainstream media, its time to buy the family burial plot, visit the cemetery where the dirt is definitely cleaner than your kitchen counter or your bathroom handles."
I would suggest that if you really get into a highly fearful state about the Coronavirus....shouldn’t that same fearful attitude occur with regular flu, or people who smoke two packs of cigarettes per day? Maybe you should fret at maximum-power, just with two 12-year-old kids throwing lawn darts, or guys pooping on the streets of SF?
Trump should do a nationwide tour of nursing homes, shaking all the residents’ hands to show it’s no big deal.
“I think the over reaction is disgusting and almost entirely political.”
Not almost, entirely political.
Who is Steve Hilton?
The Dems and their media jackals have pivoted from impeachment 60/60/24/7/365 to coronavirus, doing their best to whip up fear and hysteria. It’s working, and they are gonna ride this pony as fast and as far as they can.
What is at stake here is Globalization vs Nationalism vs rationalism...
Everything the Globalists told the public wouldn’t or couldn’t happen was a bald faced lie. Not only that, but allowed an indiscriminate propagation of a pandemic.
When this covid-19 is taken care of, I wonder what actions will be introduced to thwart a repeated scenario? And by whom.
Steve Hilton hosts an opinion show on Fox News, airing on Sunday nights at 8PM Central time. His show is quite good, if you don’t mind his British accent.
Of course its politicized! Never let a crisis go to waste, even if we have to lie about it! Said every Dem ever.
And the dutiful little sheep are happy to oblige the insanity by going out and buying toilet paper.
Isn’t Steve Hilton’s view on this, worth exactly the same as everyone else’s?
Some are quite concerned about things.
Others are not.
Someone is completely wrong about this.
Idiots like this one have no understanding of epidemiology and how you actually control a disease. Isolating 20% of the population isolates no one.
Some are. And some are advocating a responsible public health policy in the face of the Polyannas here.
I support the President. He was late to this game. The CDC fed up the testing situation. And Trump needs to stop trying to protect the stock markets with his moronic comments.
And if the White House is telling the CDC to adjust its warnings, whomever is doing that needs to be flogged.
He is not doing a good job on this.
With China making 90+ percent of our meds and antibiotics... not to mention critical parts and electronics, and IT componants... THAT is the root of the Globalization problem.
Covid-19 might be the rams horn warning of the foolishness that has proceeded this viral movement across borders. Hopefully the evident warning will be heeded.
