A New Jersey gun owner is fighting charges for carrying a firearm for which he had a permit and ammunition state police have publicly said is legal.
Roosevelt Twyne, a 25-year-old African-American security guard, was arrested by Roselle Park Police in February after a traffic stop stemming from tinted windows on his car. Evan Nappen, Twyne's attorney, told the Washington Free Beacon that his client was then erroneously charged for illegally carrying a firearm and being in possession of so-called hollow point ammunition.
"He was arrested for the hollow point ammunition," Nappen told the Free Beacon. "Then they claimed he was transporting his handgun illegally. He had a permit to carry a handgun.

“....will arrest you on a gun charge even when they know the charge is bogus....”
Is there any doubt whose side the cops will be
on ..at least in the big (ie democrat) cities...when the balloon goes up?
Just a n****r at the wrong place and the wrong time. Just dont accuse Jersey cops of racism.
I think the point in mentioning race was to show the screaming hypocrisy of liberals. If this was an illegal immigrant or SJW/Antifa type every progressive from Jersey City to Camden would be screaming bloody murder.
Official racism seems to thrive most in dem-run states. What a shock.
Are all security officers well connected?
“Connected dude
only 1200 people outside law enforcement have permits to carry a handgun”
The man is an armed security guard.
Security guards are not law enforcement
the way that works for armed security or armored car workers is that they get a “provisional” CCW which means they are only allowed to carry on duty, off duty they have to follow all the rules everyone else does. Which means gun as be transported in a separate locked case, be placed in the trunk of the car, if the vehicle does not have a trunk it must be away from the driver, ammo must be separate, etc.
Its strict.
Looks like he failed to follow the law and now everyone is saying he was charges because he is black. That is bullshiat. His CCW probably doesn’t allow him to carry off site/work. He failed to follow the law and got arrested for it.
Either that or this dude is a connected person of the 1200 non law enforcement (this means police officer, trooper, sheriff, FIB, etc, not mall cop, not armored car person, not security guard at a bank or car dealership). Or he really did break the law and MSM is trying to make into a race issue.
It wasn’t racism, he broke the law, because his CCW does not allow him to carry in his car. It is that simple.
The press is too lazy to explain that, but saying it is about race is easier and will generate more clicks
Thanks for that link. Very well done by a clear thinking honest man. Is he in Black Guns Matter?
They said he was charged with illegally transporting the gun. And what nonsense about “so-called hollow point...” ammo.
“Looks like...”
Yeah, there’s another story in NJ with similar issue where the guy was moving and had all the legal documentation.
He was arrested. He was white. I know the story because I even contacted the guy.
This is NJ. They try to make citizens life hell connected to the Second Amendment.
LEOs in much of the U.S. will do anything that causes both inconvenience and economic costs for anyone executing their Constitutionally protected rights to bear arms...
It has nothing to with “laws”... It’s a technique that is almost as important as shooting dogs or shooting (in the early morning SWAT hours when people are asleep) elderly handicapped citizens and children...
Hollow points are illegal? Wow!
Agreed!
There are a lot of reasons to not drive in DC - that is but one of them!
If you HAVE to go, ride the Metro FRom VA.
“Hollow points are illegal? Wow!”
In New Jersey, yes. Only the bullets he had are not hollow points, and are specifically mentioned as exempt from that law on the NJ state police website. They have a polymer insert in the hollow.
Bought some myself for my SO’s bedside protection this morning.
Also dropped a fiver on the kid’s legal fund, which the Colion Noir video also links to.
Here it is again: https://gogetfunding.com/roosevelt-twyne-legal-defense-fund/
Looks like he’s getting some traction. When I donated this morning, he had about $6K. Now it’s around $30K. He’ll probably need every dime of that and more.
So he can carry a concealed weapon, but he can’t carry it concealed in the car? Must he display it openly while driving? Can you link us to the actual law, because this sounds a little democra..er, I mean fishy.
How it works is that when in a car, the gun must be in a locked box in the truck separate from the ammo.
He has a CCW as a security guard, because he was arrested, the CCW is probably conditional to only carry at his job as a security guard. Once he is done with his job, aka going home, he must follow the gun laws like everyone else without a ccw.
This happens a lot in New Jersey. I remember when a Armored car driver got caught up in this, speeding on the way to or from work, had the gun in the glove box, a big no-no and got arrested looking at 10 years in prison, Gov. Christie pardoned the man.
Look up the Graves Act NJ, it is the gun laws of NJ.
Okay, then. That makes sense if the /CCW was conditional. Thanks.
I believe you can do an Opra request
