Mick Mulvaney may not have been very media-savvy, but he was generally regarded as one of the smartest people in Washington over the last decade.

The agencies and obama holdovers ate his lunch. Typical for a Congress critter. Generally, unless they had a hard profession before election they have never managed or accomplished anything. A smart President keeps the the hell out of his administration. Trump never learns.

His problem was that he told the truth to the media, and wasn’t warm and fuzzy when he did it. Every time he spoke I was thinking he’d be a good President one of these years. Trump can get away with truth telling, but I guess Mulvaney couldn’t. I liked him a lot; sorry to see him go.

ABSOLUTELY! The man was a walking budget. He could rattle off figures and statistics like crazy. He held me spellbound with his specifics and take downs of the press. I am sorry to see him go although I’m sure Meadows will be a good Trump ally.

I just appreciate competence and Mulvaney exuded mastery of any subject matter he ever tackled. His factual knowledge was encyclopedic.

His straight-forwardness may have been his undoing. He did say that horse trading was done all the time by politicians in reference to the Ukraine situation. The press turned that comment into a ‘quid pro quo’ meme against the president.

That being said, I hope he enjoys his new post in Ireland. It is well deserved for a real patriot.
