Newt got some important things done while putting up with a lot of backlash. His days of running things are over.

But he was a wing nut. Of course he showed up with Pelosi in an environment ad.

He is not or was not a team player. He was in charge of congress. He was Clinton’s opposition.

Good, excellent decision, Mr Trump.

Mulvaney was a worthless idiot, his “deal with it” press

conference could not have gone worse if he had read a

statement written by Nancy Pelosi.

Bye, Mick, be a stranger.

He is an a$$hole Never-Trumper who, rather than do his job with his mouth shut or quit, decided to run his gob whenever he got the chance. I think the straw that broke this particular camel's back was Mulvaney's recent immigration rant in England.

In any case, good riddance to bad rubbish.

“Didn’t journalist[s] have to have more than one source before they would print the story?”

I thought ‘‘tis sentence was going to end differently:

Didn’t journalists have to have more than one source before Trump became president?

I think yes, they did.

“Mulvaney wants to flood the country with foreign H1Bs. If he was fired for that pro CoC position, then good.”

Those are my thoughts exactly.

Mulvaney is a very bright guy, and did a great job in locking down Elizabeth Warren’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Mulvaney is a good guy and right on most issues.

His weakness is on importing more foreigners to displace American workers. If Mulvaney is being pushed out for anything, it should be for advocating for more foreign worker visas.

Northern Ireland has hot and cold running water.

Yes, but doesn't it come out of separate taps?

Agreed. Mulvaney while able was there out of ambition and against the MAGA agenda. He was only the acting CoS and I am glad he’s been moved along.

Oh brother. There have been stories for 6 months if not more on how Trump was unhappy with Mulvaney. Stories on how Trump bypassed him or did not include him on some meetings. There was a reason why Trump never changed his title of Temp Chief of Staff.

Gee, there were stories from anonymous sources from last fall that said Trump wanted Meadows as his Chief of Staff.

Interesting how some people sour at the words anonymous sources, but believe every syllable from someone named "Q".

Mulvaney is a Cheap Labor Express stooge, just like every elected GOP from SC.

Mick Mulvaney was DEMANDING his South Carolina constituents accept Linda’s huge Amnesty plan in 2014. PBS has a clip right from one of his town halls.

Thank God he’s gone. Hopefully Meadows will explain to Trump that trying to ‘solve’ the DACA problem now will cost him the election (although the CDC may have already done that to him).

Unlike the typical elected president, Trump did not arrive with a Rolodex full of contacts, experienced in governance, from decades of political activity. Worse he had no key aide who owned and managed that Rolodex
As a result his kids and suck ups named candidates. He got what he paid for, and you have to admit he has paid. Obama,Clinton, and Lawfare plants, some his own nominees, actively trying to overthrow him, not once but twice and a third yet to come.

He should have gone to the Heritage foundation bank of lifelong conservatives with government experience and to select successful conservative GOP governors for names of proven state operatives. He should also have fired week one, all the schedule Cs and within the month all the SES political appointees as well as us attorneys.

He blew it. No bonafides, no vetting. Wasted three years crying hoax and woe is me. You do recall he gave Hillary a pass early on. He campaigned against the swamp but had no clue what it was and how to drain it.

I give him total credit on trade, but that is one area the law gives a President a lot of leeway.

Mulvaney, as OMB Director, came in to honcho the high priority effort to secure funding the wall. Mission accomplished.

The high priority for next phase (re-elction) calls for a different skill set.

Just aligning people to the tasks. Good management.

Mick Mulvaney did his job, he did it well, and he was loyal. Enjoy your plum follow on assignment in the Auld Sod.

Sláinte Mick!

“Mick Mulvaney may not have been very media-savvy, but he was generally regarded as one of the smartest people in Washington over the last decade.”

His problem was that he told the truth to the media, and wasn’t warm and fuzzy when he did it. Every time he spoke I was thinking he’d be a good President one of these years. Trump can get away with truth telling, but I guess Mulvaney couldn’t. I liked him a lot; sorry to see him go.

“I liked him a lot; sorry to see him go.”

Me too. He’s a smart guy who worked his tail off. I heard this morning that he will will work with Meadows to transition until the end of the month. Maybe he can take a few days off to go to Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day.

“he was generally regarded as one of the smartest people in Washington over the last decade.”

ABSOLUTELY! The man was a walking budget. He could rattle off figures and statistics like crazy. He held me spellbound with his specifics and take downs of the press. I am sorry to see him go although I’m sure Meadows will be a good Trump ally.

I just appreciate competence and Mulvaney exuded mastery of any subject matter he ever tackled. His factual knowledge was encyclopedic.

His straight-forwardness may have been his undoing. He did say that horse trading was done all the time by politicians in reference to the Ukraine situation. The press turned that comment into a ‘quid pro quo’ meme against the president.

That being said, I hope he enjoys his new post in Ireland. It is well deserved for a real patriot.
