Delegate tallies after Tuesday showed Biden leading Sanders 566-501.
A candidate needs 1,991 delegates to win the Democratic nomination on the first ballot at the July convention.
In Tuesday’s biggest upset, Biden took Texas, the largest prize after California.
Sanders, meanwhile, was declared the winner in Colorado, Utah and his home state of Vermont.
He also was the projected winner in California, where votes and the breakdown on the Golden State’s 415 delegates were still being tallied. By Wednesday afternoon, Sanders was ahead by 8.7 points with 87 percent of precincts reporting.
Biden, with overwhelming support from black, moderate and older voters, swept to wins in Alabama, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia and Maine.

I understand that the delegate count is rather close, but I am swayed a bit by some of the theories I’ve read today that Sanders has already acquiesced to the establishment. I don’t know what sort of offers or deals have been worked out (or hinted at) but if there’s any kind of epic rumble, it might be almost as unscripted as a bigtime wrestling match.

They are set for the greatest disappearing trick in American history. At the convention they will disappear and some new candidate is going to emerge as the nominee.
They need to have a wheel-chair race at the next debate
Warren’s CURRENT calculus is the either Sanders or Biden will lose the 2020 General Election & be too old for the 2024 primaries. She figures she’ll get the 2024 Nomination and not have a popular president to have to run against.

Biden is the Nominee...
Democrats proportionally allocate delegates, So while Biden won’t put Bernie away quickly... the map has moved against Bernie... He can’t get the win, and Biden will likely extend his lead through the following contests.
Its clear most of the base does not want Bernie.. he has his die hards who are going to vote for him no matter what, and with Warren dropping out, he’ll likely pick up a good bit, if not most of her supporters, but Biden has the machine and the establishment voters... and will almost certainly have significantly more votes than Bernie come convention time.
A battle of the ages is not done by a couple geriatric, dementia patients.
The Donald is the youngster of the group. Like Ronnie Wood at 72 is the youngster and guitar slinger of the Rolling Stones. Jagger/Keith are 76 I believe. Keith barely strums and hits a few chords on stage these days.
