It sounds like the conservative mouthpieces like Townhall are disappointed that we did not get the unreconstructed Commie as the Dem nominee.

I think they are right.

Biden will prove to be a much tougher opponent - for once, the Dem downticket races will not be threatened with Sanders at the top.

Biden is a gaffe machine, but is more likable than Hillary.

And he would be formidable in PA, NA, AZ and FL.

One week before super-Tuesday, Nancy said that the party would support whoever won the majority of delegates in the primaries.

She knew (and had planned) that the party would be screwing Bernie again, so, uttering that support of ‘whoever’ won the primaries, was just to cover her ass and that of the democrat party.

I disagree with this. Biden was in the lead for a long time, until Sander took over, which was all a mirage.

Sanders can barely get over 26% in any state, except his own. He has a very limited constituency. These pundits want to pretend that black voters are one of the most reliable Democrat constituencies.

Joe Biden is a vestige of the Democrat Party from a by gone age. One of crony capitalism, pandering to labor unions, the welfare state, party bosses, high taxes, government make work jobs and flat out corruption. He’s an anachronism and quite frankly a man with some progressively developing health issues. Most notably what appears to be the on set of dementia.

It isn’t about Quid Pro Joe the Groping Pedo, it’s all about who the Rats pick as his VP.

Don’t doubt me.

It’s not because Biden can win, it’s because Biden won’t turn the downticket races into a dumpster fire.

There are two aspects of Biden’s candidacy (this is really true of everyone):

What is he like?
How is he perceived?

Joe may be somewhat likable and experienced and all that.
But the perception is that he has a sexual fascination with children, has dementia, is personally corrupt, has a corrupt and very dysfunctional family, and stole the nomination from Bernie.

He is very easy to take apart.

“Joe Biden has an impediment that Hillary Clinton did not have”

True - he has Hillary waiting in the wings for when he needs to be replaced. Hillary didn’t have that.

I disagree with the first perception. It is not a generally held perception and only exists deep in the underbelly of conservative forums.

The other perceptions re: corruption equally apply to Trump.

I think you have this all wrong. Biden is the one who stacks up worst against Trump’s strengths. Against Biden, Trump can actually run a type of campaign that should be impossible for an incumbent President — as an energetic, fresh outsider running against a tired, corrupt old Beltway fossil.

Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking that Namibia doesn't have any electoral votes.

yes and add Klobuchar to the VP and the ticket becomes real tough and the press will minimize any gaffes-they already have their tag line-gaffes are preferable to Trump lies.

Dems and their media are politicizing the Corona virus (shame on those posting Live Thread on FR-adding to the fear) , MDs just came on Fox Business news to say the virus is just a slightly worse flu and then the A Dem House member came on to fan fear say how serious it is and being manhandled and we nee to declare emergency and Biden can fix

I think your analysis is good. And Trump, unlike so very many Republican professional politicians, is not timid in the least about attacking back ... and hard!

Biden is better than Bernie, but he’s still a perennial loser, and that was his record running for President multiple times when he still had his full mental faculties, and when the public didn’t know about his corruption schemes.

So I don’t think we have anything to worry about. Trump is not Paul Ryan, he will not pull any punches when it comes to the debate.

Articles like this are putting a pig in the perfume. Biden's recover is less about the DNC scheming to keep control and more about Democrat voters rejecting Sanders.

Democrats view Sanders the same as Republicans viewed Ron Paul's 2012 run. A lot of Democrats are voting to oppose Sanders, the same as Republicans voted to oppose Paul. Sanders did well in the first few primaries, Democrats saw this then turned out to oppose him on Super Tuesday.

The Democrats really want to avoid a contested convention. It will take the next few primaries to see if the party is coalescing behind Biden or is split between democrats and socialists.
