The walls, I can feel them closing in !
Are people getting infected through contaminated boxes and products that are being shipped directly from China to customers homes via Amazon?
I hope everyone does go to Costco.
Leave the sane people access to other grocery chains. LOL!
Same here. I take annual precautions against the flu so that should work for this. I rarely go out in crowds during flu season. I get the flu shot and had my pneumonia shot but you still need to be careful because they aren’t 100% effective depending on the virus. If I had to choose between the flu and the coronavirus I’d be more concerned about the flu.
Does every single case really have to go to the top of the news feed?
Well, that’s my county.
Dang it.
They care closing Williamson county schools tomorrow and Monday for a deep clean.
44 yo male had recently traveled to other states, not internationally. He’s mostly been at home since his return 4 to 5 days ago. His household contacts are now quarantined .
I’m guessing household contacts includes kids, thus the school closings and cleanings. But why all schools and not just the one or two? Could be using it as an excuse to close schools until they see if it’s more wide spread.
Great move either way!
Living in Williamson county, I certainly wanted to know about it!
No.
He doesn’t live far from me as far as I can tell.
“”Are people getting infected through contaminated boxes and products that are being shipped directly from China to customers homes via Amazon?””
Good question. One I haven’t seen brought up before. I saw on the news today that ships are not leaving China with the goods we need here to fight this as they are needed in China. I don’t have any idea just what goods that might involve - no doubt masks and other preventative items. I have received a couple of orders from Amazon in the past two weeks and I guess it’s possible their contents have been in their warehouses for some time. I sent an order today for hand sanitizer as I can’t find any locally. I was at Walgreens on Tuesday and didn’t even think of it but I called today and they’ve been out of it for some time anyway.
I don’t have any idea where to get face masks but I have new “dust masks” some have recommended that I bought last year. There weren’t any at the store (Publix) when I shopped on Tuesday and where I bought them last year but I did grab more disposable gloves because we have a caregiver for my husband and they need them.
Got an excellent email with precautions to take and one I would never have thought of and that’s to wear disposable gloves at the gas pumps! I’m not going to get excited but any precautions I can easily take, there’s no reason not to. Worse case of the flu I’ve ever had in 80+ years was the Hong Kong Flu in 1969...Was afraid I was going to die and afraid I wouldn’t.
My husband has severe COPD and I have milder COPD if there is such a thing - he’s on 24/7 oxygen and I don’t use any and seldom need the rescue inhaler. He had one doctor appointment this week and two next week so I think it’s smart to start thinking smart about this! It’s the only “mingling” we do if you can call it that - waiting rooms etc.
Apparently the face masks are coming directly from China via Amazon.
“”Apparently the face masks are coming directly from China via Amazon.””
I can’t count the number of times the face masks have been mentioned in a news story but not a single word to the public (USA) as to where they can buy them. Just an important detail, I would say.
