I suspect the upshot of all this — cooked in long before the apparently sudden collapse of Klobe, Butt, Bloom, Warren, Steyer — is that Biden MUST be nominated, lest the Ukrainian connections come under serious scrutiny. It’s now off limits and there’s no way to remove all the bloodsucking ticks. DOJ, FBI, etc., will refuse to investigate a political rival, even indirectly.
Besides, they know they’re losing 2020. The nomination must serve another purpose instead, and preventing justice is one such purpose.
