Sen. Elizabeth Warren is suspending her presidential campaign, a source familiar with the decision tells NBC News, a bitter blow for a senator who was long seen by prominent Democrats as headed for the White House.

The decision ends a frantic year of campaigning for a candidate who branded herself as a progressive fighter from humble beginnings who was ready to take on a broken and corrupt system.

Whoever Biden (assuming he’s the candidate) picks for VP will likely become President if Biden were to be elected President. Everyone will know that and have to cast their vote accordingly. Biden has trouble with the days of the week, distinguishing between his wife and his sister, knowing what office he’s running for, and has to be assured by his wife, “You’re OK, you’re OK!” a woman rushed his stage.

I was concerned about Princess Little Mouth Always Running for a simple reason.

It was the same reason I was concerned about Kamala Harris’ candidacy.

Simply this: There is a share of female voters — and probably some weak males as well — who would vote for a female candidate just to be on the right side of what they perceive as an historic first.

After all, isn’t that the main reason Obama got elected in 2008, notwithstanding an inept campaign by Sen. Captain Queeg.

If ever the RATs nominate a really strong female candidate, she will be a tough opponent. Identity politics may not yet rule this divided nation ... but give it a few more years.

Fortunately, that strong female candidate is nowhere on the horizon. And no, I’m not excepting Tulsi Gabbard, who represents the usual jumble of insane policy positions, only in a more attractive package.
