Chinese Media Spread Fake News, Negative Propaganda About US Coronavirus Outbreak In recent days, Chinese state-run media have begun focusing on the novel coronavirus outbreak in the United States, painting it as more severe than the epidemic in China.

Some Chinese media outlets also spread outright falsehoods—including a claim that the virus originated in the United States.

The virus first emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year.

Meanwhile, the Chinese regime’s recent official figures have reported a decline in infections, though internal government documents obtained by The Epoch Times and eyewitness accounts show that authorities have been underreporting cases.

This past week, the United States reported cases of community spread for the first time—cases of unknown origin, whereby patients did not have recent travel history to virus-stricken countries or have close contact with infected people.

On Feb. 24, Chinese state-run newspaper Securities Times published an article based on unverified claims made by Paul Cottrell, who according to his online bio, is a finance PhD based in New York. He posted a YouTube video claiming that sources told him more than 1,000 people have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in the United States.

As of press time, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced 80 infections, excluding Americans who were repatriated from elsewhere and tested positive for the virus.

Using Cottrell’s claims as its basis, the Chinese article claimed that the U.S. CDC was hiding the true scale of the U.S. outbreak.

Chinese media also began spreading a claim that the virus originated in the United States.

There was a guy who used to post here who lives in China and would post excerpts of his blog about life in China. I wondered how he was faring and went back to his website. He is basically claiming that China has been under attack by the US for the last couple of years.

Not only is the Corona virus a US attack but the viruses attacking pigs and chicken are also a form of biological warfare launched by us against China spread by mysterious drones.

He claims the proof is that “America’s enemies”, China and Iran are hardest hit. Don’t know what he thinks about South Korea and Italy.

I still don’t trust the numbers coming out of Communist China. It’s not that they’re Chinese, it’s the fact that they are communist that makes them untrustworthy.

Bring Out Your Dead

Definitely kind of a strange guy. He called himself something like Metallicman, or Metalman, or something close to that.

I’m not sure that he as pro-China as you imply, as he had no problem explaining what happens to ‘social disrupters’ in China, where they get sent to jail, and then spend the next 2 years or so having organs removed, while being kept alive, and finally they go for the heart and anything left and die. I’m not sure I’d be posting stuff like that if I lived there, but he sure did.

On the other side, he didn’t feel there was as much of a nanny state there for smaller things - think HOAs or Big Gulps, so he felt that people who did not ‘cause trouble’ there did have more freedom than here (although I’m not so sure that’s the case).

Anyway, I think he pretty much got silenced when China shut down FreeRepublic access, and likely have cut off VPNs by now. So he’s kind of stuck there and probably re-assessing the relative freedoms of our two countries.

Exactly. Chinese let this slip from a Level-4 lab, which they never should have been allowed to happen.

Victims should be able to have a class-action suit against China (similar to the suits against Iran and Saudi Arabia for funding terrorism) and recover damages.

Trump talks a big talk but we need the next guy to DELIVER. Ax the fraud American-stealing jobs visas. Shut down the borders. Get damages from China for causing this outbreak.

He still has a website—something like metallicman.com—where he, in fact claims that the corona virus is an attack on China by the U.S. He does have some interesting info about the virus and basically says that if you get it bad, you really need to go to the hospital—it will kill you if you don’t.

I’m not kidding about his saying the mystery drones are spreading the viruses that are apparently killing poultry and hogs in China. He says that we’re responsible for that as well. He also seems to imply that China will pay us back for all of this.
