During MSNBC’s Super Tuesday coverage, Democratic strategist James Carville stated that House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) “saved the Democratic Party” and predicted that 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) will face “backlash” and calls for him to exit the race to prevent the primary race from dragging on for too long. Carville began by saluting Clyburn and saying he “literally saved the Democratic Party.”

Proof the whole Dem primary is a fraud to provide the illusion voters are choosing the candidates.
That and the prospect of perhaps an even bigger monetary reward and lake house in order to take a dive like he did last time.

Once the DNC convention blood starts flowing in earnest, a reluctant Hillary! will intervene (for the good of the party doncha know) and solemnly accept the baton for the race.
Difference between now and 2016 is that the DEM supporters loathe the GOP candidate. Sanders’ supporters will have their hissy fit if Sanders is not at the top of the ticket, but they’ll mostly fall back in line for the general election (especially with a female as the VP candidate).

There is nobody on deck to pick up after Sanders exits. The Bolshevik horde must be led & unleashed by Bernie, come the Democrat Convention, or The Revolution will sputter back to anarchic oblivion. Their time has come; seize the means of production* now, or lose all to the Orange Man Bad.
Bernie backing Biden is to hand The Revolution to a tottering senile Centrist (per their perspective) with no hope to triumph over the Robber Baron. They can write the party platform all they like, it will be trampled in the base’s rush to the exits.
Biden is the designated loser. No Democrat (Bernie isn’t one, remember) wants the nomination. A nominee being necessary, they’re backing the one loser who has no political future to lose.
Trump, winning with no political concerns 4 years hence, will turn the capitalist machine up to 11 - destroying the socialist system so long in the making and foundational to the Bernie Bros plans.
There will be no mollifying the Bernie Bros. Make him the nominee, or they’ll burn the Democrat Party to the ground.
Bernie should run as an independent.
Sanders would and will refuse. He is not a Demwit anyway, he's independent, and not eligible to seek the nomination.

What is tearing James Carville up is that Burnie isn’t even a declared Democrat, but a “Democratic Socialist”, only loosely tethered to the Democrat party as a whole.
But maybe that is enough, as nobody seems to know what a Democrat is supposed to be these days.
Berniebots would be more likely to have voted for HRC because of identity politics. There is no woke reason to vote for an old white man who isn't your idol.
My anecdotal evidence is meager, but the Berniebots I know have their eyes open more than they did in 2016, and they can see the fix being put in. The Stalinists among them want to see the convention burn, the Trotskyites are content with staying home on Election Day. Either outcome is good for Trump.

I don’t think Bernie supporters care about the gender of the VP.
I don’t know what the DNC plan is, but it’s certainly not allowing a corrupt, senile, dopey, gropey, imbecile who is clearly not in full control of his faculties to be their standard bearer. I have doubts as to whether Biden can even last until the November election.
