LG is Lieutenant Governor's position. In NC, this office often leads a candidate to run for Governor four years later. Mr. Robinbson got my vote after I came here to FR seeking help with who to vote for and was advised that he was a 2nd amendment rights advocate. The fact that he was black was not mentioned...and it would not have mattered of course - but I am just happy this gentleman will upset the loony lefties in NC - bigtime.
I voted Saturday and did not do what I usually do and decide for whom I am going to vote beforehand by checking the website of the county Republican party. I actually did check it, but did not find information for the current election. There were so many candidates for LG that I voted for Mark Johnson, the only one I really recognized, other than Renee Ellmers, for whom I was NOT going to vote. Robinson's name seemed familiar, but I did not remember the details of this great story. I would definitely have voted for him and I am SO glad that he won!
The voter ID law that was recently passed following the statewide referendum to combat the voter fraud in the state was prevented from going into effect by a liberal federal judge. Roy Cooper won in 2016 because of the rampant fraud in Durham County and he has been the WORST, most partisan Governor in my lifetime and I just turned 70 on March 7. Hopefully, the vote for Trump will be so overwhelming that it will allow the Republicans to pull out the down-ballot races! I am no fan of Thom Tillis, but we need him in the Senate rather than Chuck Shumer's hand-picked "wolf in sheep's clothing" candidate who just won the Democrat primary!
