The first coronavirus patient in New Hampshire an employee of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center defied instructions from public health officials to stay away from other people.
In a statement, the state Department of Health and Human Services said the patient attended an invitation-only private event Friday "despite having been directed to self-isolate."

This should be a good test on how this will spread. Everyone at that event was exposed even if they did not go up to the sick individual.
How recently???
Who travels to Wuhan in the middle of a epidemic when it’s locked down?
Or did they travel in early January or even December?
And this guy works for a medical facility. Should know better.
Bet the private event he went to included other medical workers.
On the bright side, a pandemic might be one of the most survivable Doom events.
Just watched The Road again. Jesus that movie is depressing. Guessing that farming and living nearly off the grid are difficult in a nuclear winter.
Sorry, trying to make light in whats been mostly bad news today
p
I’m not sure “It’s bad, let’s deliberately make it worse” is valid logic here.
Is that fact or fantasy?
Chinese bioweapon combined with human idiocy, dishonesty and plain evil.
Gonna be a fun year.
We are not inhumane. Deport him to NK.
They are Tuck students from Dartmouth.......Dartmouth runs things in that town.
you funny.
Do we even hand out guidelines on what ‘self isolation’ means? I don’t think so...
“Potentially” exposing others?
Not potentially.
ACTUALLY exposing others.
And never be permitted to work in healthcare again.
We don’t need irresponsible people like that in the healthcare profession.
With the hospital and college, it would be no surprise to me that they were Chinese. Between the two of them, they have quite the ethnic diversity up there in Hanover.
You can’t fix stupid.
Arrest and chain to a bed in an isolation ward as a public menace.
The self isolation order will not work in our culture. Americans are used to going wherever they want whenever they want. “Besides, I feel fine.” Or, “It’s just a cold.”
The nurse who came back from treating Ebola cases during the Obama years flatly refused to self isolate. She loudly flouted the order and went wherever she wanted. Thank God she wasn’t infected.
Then there is the practical matter. “What? You’re not coming in to work for the next two (or four) weeks? Okay. You’re fired.” And, what are they supposed to do when they run out of food?
Self isolation only works if people are financially independent and have sufficient supplies. I don’t know what the solution is. However, I am certain it is not self isolation on a large scale.
Then there’s the problem when you ride the bus or plane or train and someone in your vicinity passes out and is taken away with presumptive Corona virus. You self isolate for 14 days. Then you get back on public transport and it happens again...and...again...
New Hampshire. Live Free or Die.
Virus is in the wild now. Slowing the spread is the best hope we have. It is going to run its natural course, whatever that may be.
Fired, too.
Wonder if the guy’s a foreign national...
