Homophobia had nothing to do with Buttgig losing. As you say - his being a queer actually got him a lot further than he deserved.
There was/is nothing about this young mayor of a small town that qualifies him to run for the office of President of the United States.
His progressive, radical, liberal ideas are abhorrent. (Ditto the rest of the candidates on the left.)
It is not homophobic to disagree with his life style. Most of us here would agree there should be equality in law and life. However, 4% of our population ought not to dictate to the rest of us in every forum. We do not have to celebrate or elevate, and they can’t make us.
