FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. - A Virginia middle school fundraiser ended early after parents said Make America Great Again hats led to a disruption. It happened earlier this week during hat day at Marshall Middle School in Fauquier County, when students were allowed to pay $1 for the right to wear a hat to school, parents said.
According to a district spokesperson, tensions between students caused the fundraiser to end early. She wouldnt confirm what caused the tension but did say all students were asked to remove their hats and no one was disciplined.
Nevertheless, the issue exploded on Facebook, leading to hundreds of comments. Nevertheless, the issue exploded on Facebook, leading to hundreds of comments.
Wow! Im sure this wasnt an issue with the last president. SMH. Now all of a sudden its a problem, one commenter said.
Hats shouldve been for fun .. Nothing political or religious!!!!, added another.
Friday night, more Fauquier County residents weighed in.
What I heard is that the kids were bullying other kids who did not support Trump, which I dont support, Kaitlyn Camper said in a grocery store parking lot, located a couple of miles from the school. I think the kids have the right to wear the hat, but they shouldnt have gone to bullying other people that dont like Trump, Jeff Baker added.
The Fauquier County Public Schools Code of Student Conduct doesnt mention political apparel in its Student Dress section. It does, however, say any students dress that is determined by school administration to be disruptive to the learning environment is not acceptable.
After hat day was cancelled, parents said students were given the option to have their dollar refunded.

Oh, yeah, right. Progressive spawn probably said abusive things, and the Trump kids probably said them back -- ergo, bullying. By the Trump kids.
Not buying it, Kaitlyn.
Cry-bullies. The liberal bullies were probably bullying the Trump supporters and then crying victim when the conservative kids defended themselves. Parallels the adults who attacked people at rallies and then said the evil conservative triggered me with their hate speech. Or the liberal college student mobs that block hallways, hit and poke people, then start filming once their victim physically defends themselves.
In short, this is a standard tactic by liberal bullies.
They live among us -- and vote! And it happens on both sides. I'm no fan of RBG, but when she was nominated to the Supreme Court, one of my lifelong Republican relatives was unhappy about the nomination because "RBG is so unattractive."
Even I had to defend RBG's right to be considered for her credentials (upon which I would have rejected her; but not on her looks).
i think some people have no discernment and run on feelings.
i cannot stand obama.. and on first look i did not like him.. every act and every tv appearance i knew him to be exactly who he is. the crease in his pants had no sway.
and yes, they vote.
So you may be right that the person who disliked RBG's appearance was having the same sensation, but didn't know how to express it in political terms.
I have had that experience of "intuiting" something about a person from a photo a handful of times over my lifetime. One was a photo of Bill Clinton as a 16-year-old high school student meeting JFK -- this must have been back in the early 60s, probably in the DC newspapers, long before Clinton entered the national arena. I thought he was entirely ordinary-looking, but somehow he still he stood out, and I felt a negative vibe.
With regard to Obama, the first photo I recall seeing was of him and Michelle in 1996 on election night when they won his Senate seat in IllinoisI didn't react to him, but rather recoiled from her, and the trashy, vengeful expression on her face, even in victory.
obama was cocky sure of himself at a youngish age and that ususlly signifies hes been spoiled..treated as if he is owed... and he had a condescending way of looking down on anyone in front of him.. which meant he was used to having his way...
i have a thing about younguns who think at 21 they know it all
obama set himself as higher than others, he gathered a data base, which signifies he cant be trusted when he doesnt trust anyone.
It is not the hats but the “liberals” intolerance that is disrupting.
The fact that there is not a single documented case of people wearing MAGA hats doing violence against Antifa style leftists but there are numerous cases of Antifa style leftists doing violence against people wearing MAGA hats and attending Trump rallies?
Don't let the facts deceive you, just believe what the mediabots tell you.
I fingered the Berniebots for causing the trouble, and then some Lefty rando blaming it on the MAGA kids, just like they did to Nick "I Own CNN Now" Sandmann and his friends.
You either don’t appreciate < / sarcasm > or didn’t detect it.
