There haven’t been reports of injuries but with the damage I’m seeing on TV right now, I’m sure there will be. It’s a mess in downtown Nashville. That was a monster tornado. It stayed on the ground for over an hour but the warning with the storm was called off just a few minutes ago. Still a bad storm, though, and it’s hitting Cookeville now. My brother lives there. Thank goodness it’s staying north of I-40 and he lives on the south side.
I was going to send you the link to Johnny’s cam but it just went down too. The storms are just moving into that area.
I hope the eagles will be ok. It’s really nasty!
Ah, you found their site. I just sent the link in FReepmail. LOL!
You’re seeing what I’ve been watching and yes, it’s frightening to see the damage. No, destruction is the word. It’s bad.
I can see some red dipping to the south side of I-40 at Cookeville on the radar and hope it doesn’t dip too far. My brother’s just a couple miles south of the interstate and I don’t know if they know this was coming.
Looks like Nashville is going to get another hit but no tornado with that storm as of yet. I hope that remains the case. It has a severe storm warning with it and those can be plenty bad.
I hope they’ll be ok too. I hate they have such a crummy internet service there and the cams keep going down.
I hope your brother and others are spared the wrath. Not a night for sleeping, I would imagine.
But, I’m running waaaay late as usual. See ya tomorrow night for another fun quiz.
I hope he’s spared too! That storm was a STRONG one to keep dropping tornados for so long.
Now I have to worry about what will hit us. It’s almost balmy outside right now and that’s not good. The warmer it is, and the closer to sunrise the storms hit us, the more our chances for stout weather increase.
Brad Arnold - one of our storm chasers - is in TN now heading to Nashville. I guess he’ll chase some storms while he’s here since there’s plenty more action ahead. Or maybe he’s just going to stay in Nashville checking out the damage.
I’m beginning to hate election days. The last time we were hit was election day 2016. That was the general but today is our primaries.
See ya tonight for the quiz ..... I hope.
Just popping in on my way to bed...homework mostly finished.
Hope the ugly storms stay away from your brother’s place and then you as well.
I shoveled about 5” off the deck when I got home. Plow guy has come and gone, thank goodness. My street is quite the mess, tho.
Can’t get in until Thursday, 7:15am. They will get me to work and later back to pick up my car. I figured to just stop and air up every night on the way home....problem ensued. Pulled into the only station I know close that has “air”....”OUT OF ORDER”. Time to panic as the tire is already low. Time to sit down and read the instructions for the little inflator in the garage. Turned out to be easy (I hope this plan works) and the tire is now reinflated.
Rest well when you get there.
I figured you must have had a lot of homework tonight. You had more than I figured, getting through this late.
I’ve sent an email to my brother and hope there’s an “all’s well” reply when I wake up. They had two tornados in Cookeville it turns out. And they just now reported three deaths there. Just what I needed to hear. NOT!
The storms that will hit us are strengthening as they move east. No tornados yet and I pray that holds. I don’t know that I’m going to be able to sleep until they get here.
I saw it had snowed heavily at the airport but didn’t know if it did the same around town. Sounds like it did since you had that much snow to shovel. Ugh!
Your plow guy is a champ!!!
Your luck sounds like mine .... pull in for air and “out of order”. Glad you discovered your little inflator is easy to use so you can keep the tire up until Thursday.
Just heard from my brother and their area was missed by the tornados. WHEW!! And the business he works for in Nashville is in the southern part of town so it should be fine.
Getting there from Cookeville might be a chore though. I’m not sure he’ll be able to get there, to be honest, since I-40 is shut down for a 20-mile stretch. Might be a good idea for him to work from home today.
And it appears the storm heading for us aren’t going to turn severe so I’m going to feed the cats and go to bed. I kinda wish the storms were a bit closer so I could stay up to watch the light show. LOL There’s a lotta lightning with the storms.
Bam!
Already early-voted.
I hope that Sanders wins the Dim nomination! It will be Nixon - McGovern again with Sanders being soundly trounced! ;-)
AMEN!!!!!!
AMEN!!!!!!
That should read “So, I’m Dressed Up As A Lobstah!”
I did, too. I like to get it over with and avoid the crowds.
Glad to hear your brother is all right. I don’t know why I didn’t read this post earlier. RIP all the TN’ers who died in this horrible storm!
WOOHOO! #50!
Pretty obvious my attention was elsewhere, isn’t it? Right there and I let it slip by.
Thanks. It was a big relief when he emailed this morning and said all was well.
I have a feeling he had to work from home today since a long stretch of I-40 was closed. He’d emailed again after I went to bed and said he was debating if he wanted to attempt to head into Nashville to work. Waiting to hear back from him.
A terrible night for a lot of folks and rough times ahead for them, especially for those who lost loved ones.
