Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg is set to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden in the Democratic presidential race one day after suspending his own campaign, according to a source close to the Biden campaign.
Buttigieg's planned endorsement comes as another moderate former presidential contender, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), also plans to throw her support behind Biden after she dropping out on Monday.
The latest endorsements for Biden point to a consolidation of the moderate lane of the Democratic race in an effort to block progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) from getting the nomination.

Amy Klobuchar just dropped out of the race. Why drop out a day before “Super Tuesday?” Why wouldn’t she wait and see if she picked up more delegates, especially in her home state of Minnesota, giving her a stronger bargaining position? (These are rhetorical questions.)

Millions and millions of Bernie-bots have already voted by mail here in California. Bernie signs are everywhere. This morning I was almost run over by a Bernie socker mom driving a minivan with a Bernie bumper sticker on the rear bumper.
Problem with his kid glove approach to Biden is that if he doesn’t start stomping on Sleepy Joe, he will have spent billions making someone else the nominee.

With Buttigieg and Klobuchar backing him, Biden probably has the Maltese and Slovenian voting blocs sewn up. With Beto’s support he could win over the Mexican-Americans. A veritable steamroller heading Bernie’s way!
If the Republicans really want Bernie as the candidate so that the congressional Republican down ticket would benefit from the Dems having a cartoon socialist at the top of their ticket, all talk no action Lindsay Graham may finally be pressed by the rest of the Republican congressional caucus to hold hearings on the the Bidens and Ukraine during the primaries to give Bernie a little hand during the primaries.
