“Napalm the poppy fields. Then sow the ground with salt.”
We’ve probably got lots of agent orange stored somewhere. Don’t waste salt when we can agent orange the bastards.

I'm sure Pompeo wasn't blind-sided by this - that's the way these people negotiate.
They will tweak the agreement slightly, and if any of ours take hits from the Taliban in the mean-time, our response will be mind-numbing.
Trump doctrine is we don't let anything slide - all push-back all the time.

Probably. But I forgot a 3rd person, the one referred to as “cable guy” by some US soldiers in Afghanistan.
I find many things irritating about this show, one of which is they seem to still be using blackberries in 2020... or anyway, 2019.
Is it an Alternate History show, in a world with no smart phones?

“The peace deal called for 1,000 government security forces held by the Taliban to be released in exchange for 5,000 Taliban fighters imprisoned by the government”
I don’t blame the Afghan President for rejecting such a lopsided exchange.

They should at least upgrade to NEXTEL and palm pilots.

It makes no sense.
Are the advisors to the show all retired AOL techs?

It may be to our advantage to leave WITHOUT an agreement.
If we don’t sign an agreement we can not be expected to return when they break their word (as we all know they will).
Start pulling troops back to a secure location and then begin returning them home.

Their Pres is smart enough to know only Obama would release 5000 thug killers against 1000 good guys. This President is not interested apparently in national and personal suicide.
To: rktman
Seems like prisoner exchange should have been agreed upon prior to the agreement.
Sounds like someone negotiating messed up.

I had no idea. Thanks for telling me.
So it’s not the show that’s out of date, it’s the government.
Makes sense.
