The Food and Drug Administration reported the first U.S. drug shortage due to Covid-19 on Thursday night, far earlier than experts had expected the epidemic to cause disruptions to the drug supply chain.
In a statement, the FDA commissioner, Stephen Hahn, said that a drug manufacturer had “just notified” the FDA that a shortage recently reported to the agency was due to an issue manufacturing the drug’s active pharmaceutical ingredient at a facility affected by the new coronavirus.

SOmeone went to the FDA website when I posted a similar article. The most likely candidate was a blood pressure drug. Dont remember name of it.
We really don't know that yet.
COVID 19 has not been around long enough to make that determination.
btw, when I posted the article last week - dont remember day- it did not state it was because of the virus. Just that they got a notice

It’s amazing how many people lack that very basic and elementary understanding of time, geography and math. I suspect trying to explain compound interest or mathematical exponents would be lost on them. Ah,well.

I wonder how they’ll classify deaths from people who rely on meds to stay alive, but now have their supply cut off. Is it just a run-of-the-mill ‘stroke’, or a stroke due to high blood pressure, due to lack of available meds?
Will be interesting (if we get there).
