Nashville just passed a law that allows a citizen council with no knowledge of the law or police procedures to second guess the Metro police. As predicted, a lot of good officers left for other towns.

Yes, the Criminal Protection Board. The presumption is all cops are evil racists and Tyrone J. Thugg with a laundry list of arrests who runs from a cop with a concealed firearm and acts like he’s about to shoot (or does) and gets killed by cop is innocent as sunshine. The state legislature should’ve outlawed those from day #1.

When the police stop closing ranks to protect the "few" bad officers, I will believe they exist. Until such time, the VAST majority of police officers are little more than the "King's Highwaymen", out to protect nobody but themselves and the state, in that order.

Really quite sad: I was brought up to respect and admire them, and I did. Until I ran into more than a few crooked ones.

All reporting them and their illegal activities to their peers and supervisors got me was targetted. I haven't always felt like the below, but I have for longer than I didn't...
