UPDATE: Public Health – Seattle & King County announced on Sunday afternoon four additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 in King County residents, including one death, bringing the total of confirmed cases to ten. Today’s results include an additional death, bringing the total number of deaths in King County from COVID-19 to two.
King County Executive’s Office will join local and state public health officials on Monday to discuss the latest cases and the King County response to this outbreak to discuss the latest cases and the King County response to this outbreak.
What about the man in his 40s in Washington State that they just announced?
All the new cases are people in their 80s and 90s..any kind of virus would be deadly to people so old and already with underlining health issues
It’s unfortunate but it’s clear this bug is hitting the elderly folks that would most likely have caught something else sooner rather than later.

And yet we are still letting planes land here from everywhere in the world. And the huge majority of the passengers are not being screened in the least. I am frankly surprised that we are not erring on the side of caution.

If it were me making decisions I would just ban ALL international flights from all over the world, its everywhere, France, Germany, Ireland, Iceland, just close the country down til this garbage slows down

Could have been from something like a doorknob an infected person handled in a public building, s/he comes along and picks it up from the door knob. Also, since this thing is popping up all over the place, there are more national origin suspects than just China to look at.
We, probably wont ever find out where the great majority of the infections came from. Just too many variables and a patient list that keeps growing & growing to go through every one.

I agree. For every one American who criticized Trump for doing that, ten Americans would applaud.
They want natives to leave and fan out into red states. And vote the same way. I’m convinced of it.
Probably a young Asian member of the staff returning from New Year.
Being young they probably developed a cough and nothing more. Since they made it back home before it became an issue they never realized it and didn’t think it mattered.
Yep, this has been going around for a while, probably a lot more infected in that area than we know of, but they got better on their own thinking it was just the flu

About 4 hours back or so, 2 to 4 ambulances and first responders show up at the place and carted at least one person off. So it would seem people took a turn for the worse rather quickly.
Even if they don’t have the tests, there are other diagnostic methods to make determinations. I would imagine just the pathology/progression of the illness yields some obvious clues.

Aggressive measures means school closures, postponing large gatherings, home isolation of the ill, voluntary home quarantine of those in contact with the ill, and telework.

likely meaning aged victim with one or more co-morbid conditions such as COPD, heart disease, diabetes, malfunctioning immune system or obesity ... the same things that causes influenza to kill ...
I say quarantine Seattle.
Until they can test enough to narrow it down more.
Stop flights. Lock down the city
Call out the national guard.

There are many problems related to drugs, but maybe the worst is what they can turn their victims/users into. I knew of a guy whose wife was in a methadone program. He’d drive her to the clinic where she got her dose. He’d then have her vomit into a bucket and drink her vomit to share the high.

Would have been a great idea, for the sake of the rest of the nation, if it had been done long before the virus even came along!
