Tens of thousands of refugees from Syria and other countries were massing on the Turkish borders with Greece and Bulgaria last night, hurling stones at guards and trying to cut through razor wire. An estimated 30,000 migrants gathered at checkpoints after Turkey’s president claimed to have ‘opened the doors’ to allow as many as 4 million asylum seekers to leave the country. Greek police closed border crossings and fired tear gas at large groups of migrants who tried to enter from Turkey yesterday, while pregnant women and children were among those making hazardous crossings by sea. One of the first stand-offs came on Friday night at Pazarkule, north-eastern Greece, where hundreds of migrants – including Syrians, Iranians, Iraqis, Pakistanis and Moroccans – demanded to be let in.

An invasion of African Christians or Middle eastern Chaldeans would be just as bad for the future of Europe.
That many “migrants”, if they weren’t cowards, would make a good sized army to save their own countries.

True; as Rome slowly collapsed, masses of barbarians were crossing the river boundaries into the empire unchecked. Rome simply didn’t have the political will, or the population, to resist them - much like the US and Europe today.
The EU is the source of the problem of refugees routing through Turkey. They put out the invite in 2014-2015 and never withdrew it. If they want to signal their virtue, they need to step up and pay more for it to Turkey for this next wave of refugees. I do not like Erdogan but I do not blame him for shaking down the EU for more money for the refugee problem in Turkey they created. I blame the EU for exacerbating the crisis.Have the EU withdraw the invite and tell refugees in no uncertain terms they will be refused admittance, refused all refugee benefits or deported. If the EU compensates us, we will lend them Trump for a day to do this for them. Problem solved.
It already happened (and continues to happen) at our border, and now only serious crimes get the unassimilated illegals removed; the rest are here to stay (and you’re already providing all the free sh!t to them). The goalposts have been moved already, publicly and by both parties; nobody is advocating removing illegals anymore unless they’ve committed serious crimes.
This helped elect Trump, but the situation hasn’t improved. During his first term, the “caravans” were actively seeking to be detained by border guards; it was their gateway into this country, and they’re still here.
