The EU is the source of the problem of refugees routing through Turkey. They put out the invite in 2014-2015 and never withdrew it. If they want to signal their virtue, they need to step up and pay more for it to Turkey for this next wave of refugees. I do not like Erdogan but I do not blame him for shaking down the EU for more money for the refugee problem in Turkey they created.
