According to Mukhtiar Hussain, husband of the dead woman Aiman and father of the baby, they went against the family by marrying for love (instead of an arranged match). Consequently, in order to preserve the family ‘honor,’ her brothers kidnapped her along with her son and then buried them alive, where both died.

Parhlo Upon finding her wife missing, Mukhtiar went to the police police whose investigations led to her brothers who admitted to the killing (Under Islam, honor killing by family it is not considered a crime).

The investigation led to a remote and barren area of Bakirshah, where the police located and dug up the body of the victims. According to the local DSP, Aijaz Bukhari, the brothers (below) are behind bars and will be dealt with. (No doubt a slap on the wrist)

Hundreds of cases of so-called honor killings are reported every year, with many more that go unreported. Previously, the Parliament took a bold step to end honor killings in Pakistan. Still, there are certain areas within Pakistan where this heinous act is carried out.

Honor killings basically are a murder of a family member mostly by an individual or group of other family members due to the perception of shameful act carried out by the victim that has resulted in bringing disgrace to the family or in most cases also the community.

Honor killings cases are mostly that of women because of a simple reason that a woman is generally believed to be a man’s property, their rebelliousness or betrayal tears apart the fragile honor resulting in the redemption of as much as death.

Under Islam, marriage is also a financial transaction, where the groom (or his family) is supposed to hand over a dowry (called mahr), which is supposed to be the property of the bride in case of divorce. In real life, it typically goes to the bride’s family to hold onto.

If the family had made arrangements for her marriage, they would be out the dowry.

My parents never influenced my voting, always republican, since Nixon. I don't have a clue how my parents voted.

However, I had uncles and cousins who voted straight demo, for decades, and their ancestors as well. Interestingly, not a single one of them served a single day in the US military.

They all had the same attitudes about blacks and hispanic. Today, they would be called racists.

I have known lots of people at work who talked ‘conservative’ but would proudly tell you they voted strictly democrat, as did ALL in their families. Amazing to me, how some family traditions pass to the next generation. I would ask these guys, “so if you granddad was a bank robber or horse thief, that is what you would do?”

And the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has openly declared he would like around 20% of London, and England itself, to be under sharia law. And people wonder why I am so against this sect. My question is why isn’t everyone that professes human intelligence and humane qualities? And as the plague of it grows, so does the threat. And this plague has been killing people indiscriminately for thousands of years. Coronavirus? Piece of cake in comparison.
