Justin Flippen, the mayor of Wilton Manors, Florida, and a longtime LGBTQ advocate, died Tuesday night of a brain aneurysm.
He was 41.
"This is a horrible loss for our community, Wilton Manors city officials said in a statement shared with NBC 6 South Florida. "We are very sad. Our hearts go out to Justin's family and friends.
Flippen had been mayor for only two years, but even prior to his election, he was a trailblazer. He was Floridas first openly gay student body president when he studied at Florida Atlantic University. He served in multiple roles in the Democratic Party, including as a delegate at the 2008 convention in Denver, and officiated over 40 same-sex weddings after they became legal nationally in 2015.

Regardless, this represents righteous retribution by God for a hyper-activist in wickedness.
died Tuesday night of a brain aneurysm.
Can you explain what that has to do with being gay?
Can you explain how dying at 41 is normal?
One of my ex girl friends died at 40 of an aneurysm.
Not sure what caused it, definitely does not seem normal.
I was thinking the same thing. Unless it had to do with the stress of being mayor... Sad to see people go so young, but spit happens!
I wonder if he had unknown high BP issues? That could blow out a brain artery if high enough.
If the council is only LGBTQ, wheres the diversity?,
Can you explain what that has to do with being gay?
HIV-associated intracranial aneurysmal vasculopathy in adults
Prayers for a misguided soul.
All alphabet mob city council? What other sins are they promoting?
Too late for prayers after death. Its only hoped that he repented before death, and thats rather unlikely considering the suddenness of death by aneurysm.
Hundreds of thousand of people are mayors in this nation, and the vast majority of them dont die as a result.
Also, HIV ages the infected by 15 years, which, I assume, kills them 15 years early. Also, causes dementia.
I would not describe this as a horrible loss.
I remember thinking my very liberal ex was going to have an aneurysm when she was screaming at me, which was all the time. SHEESH!
HIV is a major factor in adding health issues to living, but the treatment itself is just as punishing. Bone lose, kidney an liver failure, digestive issues and many other disabling side effects are ongoing.
If you dig deep enough into websites addressing HIV sufferers, you learn the truth.
I'm sure she had HTN..and was overweight, and smoked.
She wouldn't go to see a Doctor...
Tough luck for sure..hopefully it was quick.
His medical misfortune aside, the rest of this “news” article reads like the lead opinion piece in a gay magazine.
It is no more than a hard core gay propaganda piece which incidentally mentions the death of this person. Which in reality is quite disrespectful to the man.
And many of them suffer from stress problems during and after their term. In this gentleman's case, an unknown problem in a brain's blood vessel can rupture under a stressful situation. Lost a good friend that way many years ago, and another friend dodged a major bullet when they luckily checked him before it could burst.
“That could blow out a brain artery if high enough.”
Maybe he had an ultra intense one with a buddy.
