Russia on Friday said it was sending two warships armed with cruise missiles to waters off the Syrian coast and blamed Ankara for the killing of 33 Turkish soldiers in Syria's Idlib region the previous day.
The killing of the Turkish soldiers on Thursday and the wounding of 32 others, announced by the governor in Turkey's Hatay province bordering Syria, raised the Turkish military death toll in the region to 54 this month.
Turkey has sent thousands of troops and heavy military hardware into Syria and Erdogan has warned that Turkey will launch a full-scale offensive to repel Syrian forces unless they pull back from Turkish observation posts in the region.
Though trying to coordinate their efforts on Syria, Russia backs Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, while Turkey backs rebel forces opposing Assad.
Responding to Thursday's killings, a senior Turkish official said on Friday that Ankara would no longer stop Syrian refugees from reaching Europe. Turkey blamed an air strike by Syrian government forces for the deaths.

A very interesting twist in the constantly shifting Gog-Magog scenario of Ezekiel 37 & 38.
I guess Turkey should get their ass out of SYRIAN LAND, if they don’t want to die.

"Do this, or the dog gets it"
Is this Turkey's way of threatening NATO to help it in an entirely self-caused confrontation with Russia over their machinations in Syria, by threatening to release the refugees?
I have been watching vids, as well, with the Greeks turning back “immigrants” on their borders.
Is this 1988 Iraq-Iran?
Putin's relationship with Erdogan has always been bumpy, in fact he doesn't like having to deal with the creep and most nation leaders don't like him either. He uses the refugees as cannon fodder all the time....to flood nations if he doesn't get his way. Now he can destabilize the Eu nations ..... Obama and Merkel empowered this maniac!
Erdogan of course is threatening to release the refugees, he knows it would destabalize Europe and he’s done this before to get his way. However he’s a fool if he thinks Putin will sit still while he threatens Assad. He’s going to protect his ports.
Greece needs to threaten Turkey as well with what they are doing.
Erdogan is a vile and evil man!
Pompeo has pledged that America will stand by NATO ally Turkey.
Yep, Article 5 my arse. That a great concept. Get into someone’s else country and start to scream bloody murder if they hit back.
Now tell me what Turkey does in Libya?
Let’s be honest, Syrian war was fueled by the looted Libyan weapons. We all know who funneled it to Syria.

Gog and Magog?
Ruh-roh. That sounds noble and loyal. But, I've been getting the impression that Turkey doesn't return that loyalty and is using NATO and US in his Islamist game.
It seems to be strange for us to have withdrawn from Syria only to allow ourselves to be sucked in through a NATO stratagem. I'd be very happy to hear other views that would persuade me we are pursuing the right course here.
Yet another reason for the US to quit NATO.
Turkey isnt worth the death of one US soldier.
The Russian Navy needs to sail through the Turkish Bosporus Straits, to get back and forth from the Med.
There is a lot they can do to each other, if it gets real ugly.
