Maybe some killers do truly change later. (One example might be these two brothers who murdered their family when they were teens.)

Then again, they could be lying, as most psychopaths do. Who really knows. Whatever the case, the punishment should stand.

I agree.

True repentance should get into right relationship with God, and that counts for a lot.

But the prison time you get sentenced to should not go away because you say you’ve become a better person.

Exactly. Agreed 100%.

Someone who is truly remorseful can get right with God and warn others to avoid committing the same sin, and that doesn’t mean the punishment changes.
