One of at least eight candidates aiming to unseat U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., gave a brief reply this week after Omar posted six ways that she identifies herself.

“I am an American,” wrote Republican Dalia al-Aqidi, a former Iraqi refugee who hopes to replace Omar in representing Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District.

“That’s why I’m running for Congress,” al-Aqidi added.

The response came shortly after Omar’s Twitter message late Sunday, in which the freshman congresswoman listed ways that she describes herself.

“I am, Hijabi, Muslim, Black, Foreign born, Refugee, Somali,” Omar wrote.

Then, appearing to provoke her critics, Omar added, “Easily triggering conservatives, Right wing bloggers, anti Muslim bigots, tinfoil conspiracy theorists, birthers, pay me a [dollar] to bash Muslims fraudsters, pro-occupation groups and every single xenophobe since 2016.”

Well then clarity of those terms need to be determined and everyone on the same page in what they mean. I've see a few of the arguments but I tend to fall on the side of the person being born here....ideally would be if the parents were as well, but it's doubtful that could ever be reached.

God bless Miss al-Aqidi but the district is safely rat, she literally has a better chance at hitting the lottery than winning than seat as a Republican.

Very unlikely Omar will fall in the rat primary either, she’s popular with the leftist base of the party. She would need a SINGLE (as in only one of them), strong, and odiously and solidly leftist primary opponent to have any chance of losing. I mean, you can’t campaign against Islamlo-whatever the hell she is in a democrat primary, thinking some “blue collar” rat could beat her or AOC is just a fantasy.

I’m not sure what the point would be to replace her with someone less controversial that would vote the same way.

Let’s USE her to win seats in MN that we actually can win. Ask Collin Peterson why he’s the same party with her, Angie Craig, Dean Phillips. Those are seats we can actually win (well, Phillips is maybe at best but the other two).

Collin Peterson’s opponent should be mention Omar every day. “I’m with Trump, Collin is with Omar and Nancy.”

* Daughter of a Somali Marxist and supporter of tribal genocide in Somalis - her father, possible war criminal

* Only a REFUGEE because her father’s/Aidit’s regime was overthrown and the victors wanted to try them for war crimes/genocide

* Foreign born - so were my grandparents and they became loyal American citizens after fleeing the beginnings of the pogroms in Russia. The rest of one grandmother’s family were slaughtered in the Holocaust.

* Somali - So whati? Everybody comes from somewhere. What makes you any different from refugees from Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia, Ethiopia/Eritrea, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, No. Korea, Red China, the old Soviet/now Putin Russia, the old Yugoslavia, the Magreb where Boko Haram is kidnapping and killing people by the thousands, the old Rhodesia/Zimbabwe where Mugabe’s reds kill tens of thousands of its citizens, black and white, So. Africa, where the communists and their street thugs are killing white farmers, again, Algeria, where Islamic extremists are killing everyone they don’t like, Egypt where Al Qaeda is killing people in the Sinai, Syria where Assad/Russia-Putin and Iran’s IIRGC and Hezbollah kill everyone, etc.?
