South Korea will test 200,000 members of a secretive church for the novel coronavirus after its leader agreed to hand a list of members to health authorities.
As of Tuesday, 10 people had died of COVID-19 and at least 977 had been infected with it in South Korea, making it the worst-hit nation other than China.

He added that members were barred from wearing face masks on the grounds that doing so was disrespectful to God. He said members could not miss church for medical appointments or illness.

This epidemic,in my opinion,is looking more like it was planned. The fear and panic is almost as bad as the virus. I’m glad I moved to a remote location 15 years ago but I can’t live like a hermit. The panic and paranoia will effect more people and it could get ugly. Let’s pray that the warmer weather kills this crap.
I think that you are wrong about fear and panic being almost as bad. I think they are, in a worst case scenario, likely to be worse. Panic and fear tend to be the most effective killers.
Virgil makes this point well, but I think a study of battle field mechanics will support this—
When there is a decisive battle, there is a breakthrough by one side and then Panic and fear aid the side with the upper hand in slaughtering those who have been fighting but have surrendered to fear and panic.
Societal breakdown is a very nasty thing.

This is a designed virus like all the others we were supposed to die from. A viral pneumonia is pretty serious, but the data siggest risk factors are Asian, chronic disease, over 60. This is our 4th we are all going to die virus.. looks like china is just trying to belp darwin thin the herd.. for the good of the bog collective.
In the US, our hopes of avoiding this in 2020 increase daily as flu season is winding down. Next year, i will be more concerned.
Especially after they clean up the first gen test and increase its accuracy.
Why does only the cdc get to test and control this? Sound like data control let’s face it.. our government is as bad as China.
I think the data that is most fashionable now does suggest what you say. I’d even add smoking.
I think that it will be about two months before we actually have firm data in hand that I would trust. Follow South Korea and the Diamond Princess closely.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
Well the other 110,000 members are SOL.
If a bad actor is going to spread a disease, this would be the perfect place to do it, the perfect group to use...

This sounds more like a bunch of Democrats than a church...
It sounds like they created, inadvertently, the ultimate disease transmitting system, for a disease such as this.
Potentially they have a real mess on their hands.
We will see how bad, in the next week or so, I think.
Does that “church” have a name? Or are some God haters CALLING it a church, when it’s really just a cult that has nothing to do with the Lord Jesus Christ? Let’s use correct nomenclature.
