There is actually quite a lot of travel between San Francisco and Asia. It (along with LAX) are the main western US hubs.

You notice, though, that these same people are NOT advocating closing our borders.

The CDC has tested less than 500 people so far. The explicitly forbid testing for H2H in the general population unless you 1 have been to wuhan in the last 14 days or China proper and show a fever or have direct contact with one of the “57” confirmed cases.

it’s despicable that they REFUSE to test pneumonia cases who already tested negative for flu. There’s a growing list of pneumonia cases that families are practically begging the CDC to test and they still refuse if it doesn’t follow their flow chart and that chart expressly prohibits testing Americans who may have been exposed via community transmission. It’s no accident that we only have “57” cases they are not testing for it.

Does any rational person think that ZERO of the hundreds of thousands of Chinese college students that attend American university came back positive? There’s over 300,000 Chinese nationals that attend American university and half yes HALF go home every Dec. This says nothing of the ten thousand or so Chinese that have been allowed to fly in since mid January, and nothing of the thousands from Japan, Korea,Italy and Iran that got here in the last week or two. If anyone thinks this is not already here and running wild they are not only a fool they lack the grasp of 6th grade math. If one percent are positive and asymptomatic or mild symptoms as 80% are with a R0 of 2 to 4 this is about to kick off big time. Our government knows this they.already are working the.narrative and emotionally preparing the people to accept it.The delay is so the.market can have a correction and the gpvt can get their preferred people in to safe zones.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2020/02/25/cdc-urges-americans-to-prepare-for-coronavirus-outbreak-this-might-be-bad/amp/

“It’s not so much of a question of if this will happen in this country anymore but a question of when this will happen,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Dr. Nancy Messonnier told reporters.”

“We are asking the American public to prepare for the expectation that this might be bad.”

Add corona virus to the long list of infectious diseases that threaten San Francisco. I would be more worried about an outbreak of bubonic plague, typhoid or malaria coming from the filthy streets that are open sewers for the homeless.

POLITICAL POSTURING!!

Yes. She's under fire in SF for improper acts. So she is trying to divert attention away from her own situation. Plus not handling all the problems that are out of control. This is all politics, and nothing to do with the coronavirus concerns.

They’ve got Chinatown.

The same Chinatown that had a plague outbreak in 1900, and they refused to do anything about it.

It ultimately infected the ground squirrels, and thanks to San Fransisco, today plague can be caught throughout the western US.

This is probably not to time to remind everyone that when the "gay plague" hit San Fransisco, they refused to close the bathhouses...

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

This is a smart move by the SF Mayor...her city is one of the likely entry points of corona-virus to the United States. Better for everyone if the front line locations like SF are ahead of the curve.
