Despite Senate experience, Sessions finds himself in ‘tough race’ (Gee, I wonder why?)

Tuesday was another day in another city, another time to reintroduce himself to his home state and maybe capture some votes along the way.

It hasn't been this way for Jeff Sessions since the beginning, this constant touring of Alabama soliciting support after Alabama elected him four times to serve as their senator in Washington.

And now it seems Sessions, after 20 years in the Senate, is back at the beginning.

I’d hate to see Mitch McConnell and the Republican National Committee spend ANOTHER $30 million to defeat Roy Moore.

This is all part of Sessions’ 4D chess. Trust Sessions. And Horowitz.

I guess he is no worse than Barr at this point. Neither one has done squat!

for about the billionth time, the same guy from a blue state in new england thinks he’s qualified to tell voters in reliable red states how to vote.

he was pimping roy moore last time he thought he was smarter than everyone in AL.

Who’s the best primary pick?

Bradley Byrne. Has been a reliable conservative in the House for several years. Sessions would be better than Tuberville, who is soft on illegals.

This is heretical on FR, but I'm partial to Roy Moore. Except I'm on the west coast, so I'd like to hear what Alabama freepers think.

Now you've done it. A lot of Alabama Freepers like Moore, but some of them absolutely detest him. They literally hate him, and blame him for the loss, rather than blaming the backstabbing Republicans like Richard Shelby, or blaming the Democrat smear machine.

Moore would have been a good Senator for, among other reasons, he is fearless.

You mean the 1.2 million people who voted to make Roy Moore Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court?

I think they are pretty smart.

I like Sessions.

Think he will be a strong Trump ally in the Senate.

Yes, I am focusing on the fact that the GOPe is firmly in Sessions’ camp. That should tell you all you need to know about which team he plays for: Team Deep State.

I am personally leaning on voting for Bradley Byrne. I expect Sessions to win. Moore is DOA.

Sessions merely showed the incredible incompetence, at ANYTHING real, that is endemic in the U.S. Senate. There aren’t a collection of 100 useless imbeciles anywhere on Earth like it. No energy, no ability, no intelligence, no ethics...literally nothing of value, unless you consider sociopathy a value, to be found anywhere.

Moore was unfairly treated, but he didn't help his cause when he had the opportunity to do so. Part of being a good Senator is being able to anticipate political attacks, and know how to address them. He's a good man, but this race needs a good man with a different skill set.

The only thing that matters right now is getting Doug Jones out of that seat.

Sessions was a good senator. He sucked as AG because he’s not naturally a fighter and that’s what is needed there. Roy Moore is perhaps the only republican this side of Jack the Ripper who could have lost that seat to Jones, it would be stupidity of the first order to run him again.

For once I wish we republicans could use our heads when voting instead of invoking purity tests.
