Taxing the fossil fuel industry will raise energy and gasoline prices. He is raising taxes on families making more than $29K. The rest of taxes will also hurt the economy.

getting rid of health tax expenditures

What he means is eliminating the health care deduction. This is right from his website:

:"Eliminating health tax expenditures, which would no longer be needed under Medicare for All. (Revenue raised: About $3 trillion over 10 years.)"

What he means is we can't deduct the $90k in assisted living expenses which offset the $90k in IRA withdrawals needed to pay for assisted living. Obviously Medicaid-for-all is not going to cover dignified assisted living. It will instead include the current Medicaid-funded nursing homes i.e. "oxycontin warehousing for the almost-dead". FU BS and GTH.

Sanders proposed getting rid of medical debt by implementing an income inequality tax on large corporations that pay CEOs at least 50 times more than average workers.

Someone should explain to Bernie that CEOs get paid big money because they are worth more to the success of the company than the "average worker". Watch what happens to the company if you put an "average worker" into the CEO position. Bernie should put HIS money where his mouth is by giving away HIS salary to charity. He's rich, he won't miss that money.

Punitive lawsuits and taxes against the oil and gas industry will absolutely cripple the industry, which is barely surviving as it is. Low prices right now are forcing companies to abandon plans to drill...it’s just not economic. The rig count continues to drop. Yes, Bernie’s actions will cause oil prices to go up, but at no gain for the companies. Look for gasoline, heating oil, and natural gas shortages coming your way. Socialist lines are on the way!

I’ve read a few articles now, and the comments in this thread, and no one is picking up on probably the scariest idea in this barrel of madness. To partially pay for his Green New Deal, the second bullet in his plan reads as follows:

Generating $6.4 trillion in revenue from the wholesale of energy produced by the regional Power Marketing Administrations. This revenue will be collected from 2023-2035, and after 2035 electricity will be virtually free, aside from operations and maintenance costs.

Take careful note of “...energy produced by the regional Power Marketing Administrations.” Sanders is suggesting that he will nationalize (i.e., socialize) electrical power production in the US. It’s unclear from these scant details if he’s suggesting that private power utilities will be “bought up” by the government and then administered by his “Ministry of Power,” or if the power these privately held utilities produce will be controlled/distributed by a government “marketing administration.” Either way, this is a disaster waiting to happen for several reasons.

It is now once again time for the classic from Bill Whittle entitled “Eat the Rich”:

The “rich” don’t have anywhere near enough money to pay for these schemes.

There should be some kind of “Bernieland” simulation where anyone considering voting for him/similar, has to do pratical things throughout the course of a day in a world where he was President (i.e. file a tax return, get gas if cars even still exist, etc). Or maybe someone can devise some documentary of such a thing and air it primetime. Too many people have no concept of what his proposals would equate to.

Campaign dollars paid for all of his books. It is the perennial candidate scam, which he and Biden have milked the public for millions during the last 30 years.

The left continues to say we'll be forced to adapt to "green technology" one way or another. When Bernie kills energy production, there won't be a demand for any electric cars either.

“getting new income tax revenue”

Nice way to put it. Sounds so positive.

Oh, wait. Now Maduro is thinking of privatizing oil again?? How does that sit with your model Bernie!?

“massive lawsuits against the fossil fuel industry” won’t fund squat when you lose them after years of litigation ...

Bernie breeding a new variety of unicorns to poop golden skittles would be equally as likely to product the needed $100 trillion over the next ten years as would “massive lawsuits against the fossil fuel industry” ...

also, there are some SERIOUS math errors in this insane “plan”

one that i spotted was collecting $2.3 trillion in income taxes from those 20,000,000 new “good-paying” jobs. Suppose a “good-paying” new job pays $80,000/year; that would be equal to $1.6 trillion in wages, yet bernie says that will generate $2.3 trillion in new income taxes ... that’s quite a feat ... almost sounds like a “wealth” tax on the middle class ...

but my FAVORITE part of the “plan” is:

“after 2035 electricity will be virtually free, aside from operations and maintenance costs.”

no doubt, Unicorn and Rainbow power would be free ...

AND we only have to wait for 15 years from now, 11 years after bernie’s first and only term as president ...

bernie’s plan concludes with: “This is your movement”, but doesn’t elaborate on what kind of “movement” ... given bernie’s age though, i can imagine what kind of “movement” he’s obsessed with ... can anyone say “stewed prunes”?

So he is going to nationalize oil, gas and coal production, triple income taxes, tax the hell out of corporations, turn off all air conditioners except in his 3 homes, outlaw gasoline-powered cars, and take all of billionaires’ wealth.

All the while keeping his 3 homes.

So 4% of a family’s income over 29,000 will be sucked up by the marxist machine. So a typical family earning about 60,000 will pay an additional 100 per month. I don’t know of anyone who has an extra 100 to give to the government.

Hey bernie! you have bent over and presented your xxx to the m*slims in return for their money and votes. You hate Jews and this country. You’re an atheist even if the media won’t tell us.

My advice to you is go fornicate yourself.

I really hate the way the fashion has become to talk about budget amounts without clarifying if it is for one year or ten years, intentional obfuscation, but now everyone does it, flipping back and forth to make “their side” look good —

Got a number? Please put “/year” or “/10yrs” after it, it doesn’t require much extra ink.

Socialists like Santa Claus Bernie believe corporations have warehouses full of stacks of gold bars, it’s hard for them to comprehend an economic system, so they act like kindergartners, “if you got something, you took it away from someone else” is what they actually believe.

Bernie’s tax plan is going nowhere!

Dumbass has never taken the first Economics course. Or, if he did, he was stoned the whole semester!

Your tax plan is a non-starter, Bernie!

You are a LIEberal loser, Bernie!

Correction: He is raising taxes on families making anything over $0.

How does anyone think the 7.5% premium on employers will be paid? Through wage cuts of 7.5% is how. And most people, unfortunately due to the dumbed down K-12 system, won’t get it that their employer should’ve cut their salary by just 6.98% to make it break-even.

In the short run the employers would just “eat it” on the 7.5% premium. However by the time such legislation could get through Congress, signed into law, and regulations go out to implement - we’re looking at January 2022 as the earliest it could take effect. Starting November 2020 (if he becomes President-Elect) we’ll see employers planning ahead on how to handle the impact and well before January 2022 this 7% cut in 2022 pay will be start being implemented. It’ll come in smaller or no raises at all. It’ll come in smaller bonuses or tightened rules. It’ll come in less employees being hired. It’ll come in pay cuts.

As for the gray economy is concerned - its going to be a BOOM time. Currently it costs 12.4% for Social Security, 2.9% for Medicare, and even more than that for Middle/Upper wage workers. This Sanders plan will raise that this to 19.9% for every penny and then about 47.9% for middle imncomes with higher incomes having an even higher effective tax rate. Why will people continue to hire legal residents/citizens when they can just hire people under the table (some legal, some illegal) to do many jobs like agriculture, construction, nails/cosmetics/hair, deliveries, and a lot more? I expect to see more cash-based businesses growing in America if Sanders is elected President.
