'America loves India': Trump and Modi hail India-US ties

US President Donald Trump has addressed a huge rally at a mega cricket stadium on his maiden official visit to India ...

The two leaders then headed to a new cricket stadium - the biggest in the world - where Trump heaped praise on Modi as an "exceptional leader, a great champion of India" in front of a crowd of nearly 100,000.

"America loves India. America respects India, and America will always be faithful and loyal friends to the Indian people," Trump told the ecstatic crowd, many in Trump-emblazoned baseball caps.

Name-checking Bollywood films and Indian cricketers, Trump - with an eye on elections in November - paid tribute to the four-million-strong Indian-American diaspora as "truly special people".

...Ahead of Trump and Modi's meeting, Amnesty International India and Amnesty International USA, issued a joint statement.

"Anti-Muslim sentiment permeates the policies of both US and Indian leaders. For decades, the US-India relationship was anchored by claims of shared values of human rights and human dignity. Now, those shared values are discrimination, bigotry, and hostility towards refugees and asylum seekers," said Margaret Huang, Amnesty International USA's executive director.

"The internet and political lockdown in Kashmir has lasted for months and the enactment of CAA and the crackdown on protests has shown a leadership that is lacking empathy and a willingness to engage. We call on President Trump and Prime Minister Modi to work with the international community and address our concerns in their bilateral conversations," said Avinash Kumar, Executive Director, Amnesty International India.

In 2000, India’s GDP was $477 billion, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). By 2019, that figure had risen to an estimated $2,940bn.

That’s an increase of 6.2 times over the period 2000-2019.

According to a 2018 UN report, there were 271 million fewer people living below the UN-defined poverty index in 2016, than ten years earlier.

Now, those shared values are discrimination, bigotry, and hostility towards refugees and asylum seekers," said Margaret Huang, Amnesty International USA's executive director.

With no mention of the shared grief caused by aliens attacking and killing citizens. Muslims killing Hindus in India, and Mexicans killing Americans in the USA. Border enforcement is a plus as a shared value.

I certainly respect the Indian people but I can’t pretend that I like the fact that there are many, many Indians working here doing jobs that Americans could do.But it must be noted that they, unlike Mexicans, have legal authority to do so.

Best way to jack-up China is to create a strong India, China’s greatest Asian rival.

They are the white-collar “replacement Americans”, without the same culture/traditions that made this country great. Many Americans won’t risk having families with this dynamic out there.
